Why Communication Matters More Than You Think

Most couples we work with aren’t “broken”. They’re simply stuck in patterns of communication that no longer work. These patterns can be changed — with the right tools and guidance.

To make support more accessible, we’ve created a focused, skills-based programme designed for real-life change.

In just three weekly 75-minute sessions, you’ll learn how to communicate without escalating conflict, break out of repetitive argument cycles, listen and respond on a way that builds understanding, and rebuild trust, connection and emotional safety.

Thank you for the feature article “Helping Couples Communicate Better, in their Mar-May 2026 issue, page 82.

We are excited to launch our new three-session Couples Communication Workshop, with each session lasting 75 minutes over three weekly appointments. Utilizing tools from the Gottman Method of couples counselling, we provide structured, skills-focused sessions to improve your communication, break patterns of conflict that lead to emotional disconnection, and improve empathy and understanding.

We want to help you build healthy, long-term relationships.

“Scattered Minds” by explores how attention deficit disorder affects people’s lives, focusing on its roots in childhood stress and emotional disconnection. It offers insights into managing it with self-awareness and empathy.

While Dr Mate is a physician, not a psychiatrist, he has a background and special interest in childhood development, trauma, and potential lifelong impacts on physical and mental health, including attention deficit disorder.

The book focuses on emotional life and particularly early attachment as factors in ADD, but it not science backed and challenges established scientific understanding of ADD’s genetic component and classification as a form of neurodivergence.

My personal non-scientific belief is that ADD has both genetic origins and factors such as early childhood maternal/parentsl bonds and trauma influence the outcome.

We all know people affected by ADD. What are your thoughts?

Transformative.

The Let Them Theory by outlines a powerful mindset tool encouraging the detachment from the need to control others, allowing them to act, think, and live as they choose, thereby freeing oneself from frustration and mental exhaustion.

Mel Robbins’ theory involves saying “Let them” when something stresses you, acknowledging what you cannot control, and then focusing on what you can control (I.e. “Let Me”): your own actions, reactions, boundaries, and thoughts.

This approach fosters healthier relationships, greater peace, and stronger self-esteem by letting go of expectations and accepting people for who they are.

Read it today, it truly transforms your reactions to responses and puts you back in control of yourself.
