Andiappan Yoga Community AYC is a volunteer-driven organization committed to enhancing lives across various backgrounds, ages, and needs through our community support programs.

VOLUNTEER
If you have graduated from an International Yoga Academy teacher training program with 200 hours or more — and have been issued a certificate — you are eligible to become a volunteer yoga teacher for Andiappan Yoga Community (AYC). If you have not yet received an email invitation to join our community, please contact AYC. PARTNER
Andiappan Yoga Community is a non-profit, fully volunteer organization whose mission is to share yoga with those who may not be able to afford yoga classes or those who may have special needs or circumstances. All of our yoga instructors are certified with the International Yoga Academy, believe in the benefits of yoga, and are committed to teaching yoga on a strictly volunteer basis. If you would like to host or arrange yoga classes for your organization or charity please contact AYC. CONTRIBUTE
There are several ways to give. Andiappan Yoga Community accepts donations for venues; yoga mats, blocks, straps, materials, and props; and to cover transportation costs for participants and instructors. We also offer yoga teacher training sponsorships for less fortunate students, and hold fundraisers for various charities and causes. Yoga Therapy for Pain Relief - Tue (Self-Funded Yoga Program)

These self-funded projects aim to provide our health and wellness programs in a more sustainable manner, addressing the challenges faced by our outdoor public venue sessions due to weather and other environmental factors.
These programs are tailored for those who fall within the low-income bracket, with a monthly income of HKD 5000 and below.

Experienced AYC volunteers, each with a minimum of one year of volunteering with AYC, will lead the sessions. Participants will contribute HKD 80 per session for these self-funded programs, with each class accommodating a maximum of 25 individuals. The revenue generated from these classes will be utilized to cover expenses such as hall rental fees, volunteer transportation allowances, and teaching costs.

✨Medical Rehabilitation Yoga Project ✨

Therapeutic Yoga Class for Stroke Patients at Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital
Joint collaboration of the Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital, the Patient Resource Centers of Kowloon Hospital as well as that of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Dedicated to patients who have suffered from a stroke or other chronic medical conditions before, this series of yoga sessions will target at enhancing the participants’ mobility and muscle coordination through therapeutic and rehabilitative movements. With a greater range of motion and improved balance in different body parts, we hope participants can walk away with more self-confidence and hope in recovery, realising that there is still immense potential in their body and mind.

Class for the Homeless with ImpactHK - Health and Wellness Program
A Collaboration with ImpactHK
ImpactHK understands the importance of providing beneficiaries with as many opportunities to connect and find happiness as possible. Its new sports and counselling centre, Place2Be, is a fun space where Community Helpers and homeless friends can get involved in healthy activities, have fun and see counsellors.

With intentions to support the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals ImpactHK are helping, AYC would like to extend free yoga classes to regular visitors of the Place2Be.

✨Yoga Therapy Class for Breast Cancer Patients & Survivors with Global Chinese Breast Cancer Organizations Alliance (GCBC)✨

Medical Rehabilitation Yoga

According to the World Health Organization in 2020, there were 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer and 685 000 deaths globally.

This Yoga Therapy class is tailored for Breast Cancer patients & survivors according to their conditions and mobility. Focusing on improving overall mobility & strength helps in adapting to daily life after treatments, boosting the energy levels and performance of organs, and some postures which will soothe specific symptoms, and are complementary to their rehabilitation program. We also include different pranayama and non-religious meditation practices to help them maintain a calm and peaceful mind to cope with pain and stress management. The practice will be beneficial to students on both physical and mental levels.

Andiappan Yoga Community is invited as the Yoga Partner by Global Chinese Breast Cancer Organizations Alliance (GCBC) to introduce yoga to Breast Cancer Patients & Survivors as a therapeutic and overall physical exercise.

越來越多的科學研究開始證實練習瑜伽為人們帶來莫大的好處,長者瑜伽課程亦越來越受歡迎。香港 60 歲或以上的長者而當中有精神健康問題是很常見。就此安迪潘瑜伽聯盟與東葵涌綜合家庭服務中心合作,為一眾長者量身定制了瑜伽課程。 透過我們訓練有素的義工瑜伽導師教授合適的瑜伽式子和呼吸技巧,以幫助他們援解情緒上的壓抑及其他身心上的健康問題。
