It was a privilege to attend the 49th C. Elaine Field Lecture, a cornerstone event by the Hong Kong Paediatric Society in collaboration with Dept of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine , HKUMed – The University of Hong Kong.
At just 51 years old, Prof. Constance Elaine Field arrived in Hong Kong with a vision, and in 1961 she founded the Department of Paediatrics—laying the foundation for generations of child health advocacy to come. Her legacy of scientific rigour and compassion lives on through this annual lecture. An event I look forward to each year.
A huge thank you to Prof. Juan Pablo Kaski from University College London for a masterclass on advances in paediatric cardiomyopathies. His emphasis on the irreplaceable value of clinical data was a powerful reminder that behind every complex diagnosis, meticulous observation remains the cornerstone of precision medicine.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Winnie Chan (VP, HKPS) and Prof. Cheung Yiu Fai for organizing such a high-calibre educational event.
