Scientists in the UK have done something incredible—they’ve grown real human teeth using a patient’s own cells.
By copying the signals that guide early tooth development, researchers managed to grow enamel, dentin, and even roots. That means the future of dentistry could involve growing new teeth instead of using metal fillings, veneers, or implants.
Two methods are being tested: one grows the teeth directly inside the gum, while the other produces full teeth in the lab for future transplant. In both cases, the result is the same—natural teeth that are truly your own.
If successful in humans, this breakthrough could lead to dentists regrowing lost or damaged teeth, offering a natural, long-lasting alternative to prosthetics.
