【Division of Colorectal Surgery at the Tripartite Colorectal Workshop 2025 – Paris 🌍】

We are proud to share that Dr. Fred Lui from the Division of Colorectal Surgery represented HKU Surgery at the Tripartite Colorectal Workshop 2025 held in Paris, France. 🏛️✨

Dr. Lui presented a compelling poster titled “Frailty is a Better Outcome Predictor than Age for Patients Undergoing ERAS After Elective Colorectal Surgery”. His research highlights that Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol is both safe and feasible for frail and elderly patients. 📊 And the Clinical Frailty Score (CFS) is a better predictor of post-operative complications than age alone, which it should be considered in future clinical practice to better assess and predict peri-operative risks and outcomes.

👏 A huge round of applause to Dr. Lui for his outstanding contribution to advancing colorectal surgery and patient care! 🩺💡
