We have had so many people how they would solve this issue of shoulder, imbalance, most of them will address the high side are releasing the upper traps.
Yes, of course the upper traps would be overactive on the high side, but releasing it will not do you any good. Did you know your upper traps are upward rotators of your scapula? They need to be strong and active to help with any movement that requires you to raise your arms above your head.
Try this approach - activate the upper traps on the opposite side instead. You can consider exercises such as dumbbell shrugs or single arm dumbbell overhead presses with a shrug at the end. Does your shoulder feel more balanced after? Your neck feel better? If you know how to muscle test, perform one to reconfirm your findings.
