While ‘delayed gratification’ is a well-known useful skill in achieving long-term goals. We could also consider ‘delayed happiness syndrome’ where some people could put their happiness on hold until/when/if. (From the writing of Lisa Earle McLeod)

1. Being part of something that offers a sense of meaning and purpose
2. Spending time with family and friends
3. Being kind and helping others

Correct your pace of life by doing the above regularly and enjoy for all the good things to Come Soon to you 🌷

You may know that Change happens gradually, so does Recovery.

How about Relapse?

We often forget that this too, happens gradually. Return to undesired behaviour can begin weeks and sometime months before an individual actually succumbs to unhealthy coping again. The goal of Relapse Prevention treatment is to help individuals recognize the early warning signs of relapse and to develop coping skills to prevent relapse early in the process, when the chances of success are greatest.

How Social Media is causing teens to be over-invested in their Appearance?

Studies show that when teens scroll through the carefully-curated feed of their peers, they engage in the process of appearance comparison, where “internalising” the enhanced and often altered images can lead to body-dissatisfaction and negative self-evaluations - a major risk to develop an Eating Disorder.

One thing we CAN do is helping young people to develop a better radar to discriminate against misleading information and avoid associated mental health risks:

Having seen the interrupting and distracting qualities of our devices, most of us have become a lot more careful when it comes to the amount of free time we spend on our smartphones. The subject is even more relevant for parents and educators concerned over the inadvertent effects that various soc

Fear is a natural response to keep us away from danger and risky behaviour. Fear of Covid-19 had initially promoted good public health compliance, such as near 100% voluntary masking. However, the extended fear of Covid-19 together with anxiety around policy measures is showing to cause significant psychological disorders, people are easily swamped with negative emotions, anti-epidemic fatigue, depression and decline in physical well-being.

I hope that educating oneself on the risks associated with Fear of Covid-19, though unpleasant, can reduce some anxiety. Data shows that we are in this together. Stay well and safe 🌷

Vulnerability Risks, Hong Kong populations:

📉Decreased income and financial insecurity
🎯Low work efficiency and job uncertainty
🗣Negative emotions and conflict at home
🤱35-44 age group: working parents and caretakers
🎈18-34 age group: social distancing and isolation
🚪Those living with others (flatmate, roommate)
🎓Lower education and understanding about the virus
