背景故事
Background story 🐾

流浪貓媽媽由於體弱生育後無法分泌足夠乳汁的情況並不少見，這情況下，她們有時會尋求人類幫助。

這對小貓女的媽媽在14個月前將幼崽託付給了照顧者。照顧者一直將它們養在室內，細心照料，因此它們非常親人。

由於近期該村需要照顧的小貓數量不斷增加，我們現正為這對雙孖女尋找一個愛家，繼續給予它們關愛。💕💕

It's not uncommon for stray cat mothers to be too weak to produce enough milk after giving birth, and in such cases, they sometimes seek help from humans.

The mother of these two kittens entrusted her newborns to the carer 14 months ago. The carer has raised them indoors and provided meticulous care, hence they are very affectionate.

Due to the ever increasing number of kittens being born in the village needing care in recent times, we are now looking for a loving home to continue providing this love for the twins. 💕💕

2026.02.17 馬年年初一。感恩與祝福語
Counting my blessings on the 1st day of 🐎 🐎 🐎

In the past two years, everyday seemed to be reckless and full of unexpected daily happenings, yet I have never enjoyed it more with such clarity and joy!!!

I was thinking to myself.....
Perhaps, this is to catch up with those idle 20 years.
And perhaps, my time is running out, so I'm racing to clear my bucket list, so no regrets!
Either way, I'm truly thankful that I finally feel alive, again!!!

I'm grateful for all the angels who have taken such good care of me.
My darling sister Eva who as always takes me under her wings like a mother. She does that to all of us siblings.
My other siblings, Kate Joe Chui who have been fully supportive while I now have less time for our mom....
My mom... My LOVE..... Who has stayed strong and cheerful, remains the hardest core of my life force.

My comrade sister Adriane, for her always encouragement and challenging me to think in a different perspective... And no matter how unconvinced she was, she always stood by me and supported me in every way.

Today, I celebrate my life and the coming year of 🐴 with Adriane's gifted radish cake.
It's super DELICIOUS!!!! 😋 🥰🧧🥳

【 PSB🐈Resident ✨🎊 SASSY'S GRADUATION CEREMONY 】
【 大灣肚沙灘🐕居民 SASSY 🐾✨畢業典禮 】(中文版 👇)

"SASSY"

She, along with her older sister Brownie (who passed away on October 25, 2025) and older brother Squash, the famous "PSB TRIO," migrated from Sok Kwu Wan 15 years ago with their pack of dogs due to overpopulation and food shortages — a situation that persists to this day. About 10 years ago, they became iconic animals of Lamma, inhabiting the area between the Power Station Beach and Hung Shing Yeh Beach.

She was microchipped and spayed by our late animal rescue hero, Dr. John, and his team of volunteers (all local residents). For many years, the local community lovingly cared for the three of them, providing them with daily food.

This morning, sadly, Sassy passed away due to heart disease and old age… Without any human intervention, Sassy left this world peacefully and naturally, surrounded by her only family member — her brother Squash — at her home on Tai Wan Tau (PSB) Beach.

🙏 Thanks to Hans and Sally, our Lamma vet team... Without their relentless guidance and treatment, her smooth transition wouldn't have been possible.

✨✨✨ THE DEPARTURE ✨✨✨

The background music was real birdsong from the scene — so many birds, it was practically a beautiful symphony!

Sparrows appeared around the time of Sassy’s death, circling incessantly above the bushes where she lived... as if bidding her farewell!

It was the most beautiful farewell ceremony…
The most sacred ceremony we had ever witnessed.

Sassy earned everyone's respect.
She was always so gentle and kind to all living beings.

Animals don't need humans
Until humans ruin their lives

How we wished we could have celebrated with champagne this morning…
But more appropriately, after a quick clean-up, we respected her space, allowing her to peacefully spend her final moments with her “family.”

This is the most significant lesson we learned from our canine resident, Squash.

He knew this was a crucial moment for Sassy ​​and he had been quiet ever since we brought her back to Tai Wan Tau Beach from intensive care. He was always nearby, silently watching over her… He left her alone because he knew that was what she needed.

He had the greatest, most selfless love for her, full of respect.

The last one we need to protect is… Squash.

Thank you for all that you 🐾kids had gifted us...

【大灣肚沙灘居民 SASSY 🐾✨畢業典禮】

“SASSY”

她和她的姐姐Brownie（已於2025年10月25日去世）和 哥哥Squash，也就是有名的「大灣肚三寶」，15年前和他們的狗族群一起從索罟灣遷徙而來，因為當時那裡狗的數量過多，食物來源匱乏，而這種情況至今仍然存在。大約10年前，他們就成為了我們南丫島的標誌性動物，棲息在發電廠(大灣肚)沙灘和洪聖爺沙灘之間。

她由我們已故的動物救援英雄「約翰醫生和他的義工團隊 (都是本地居民）」植入了晶片並進行了絕育手術。多年來，本地社區一直精心照料著他們三個，每天都為它們提供食物。

今天清晨，令人悲痛的是，Sassy因心臟病和年老離開了我們…… 在沒有任何人為幹預的情況下，Sassy在她唯一的家人——哥哥Squash的陪伴下，以最自然、最平靜的方式離開了人世，就在她位於大灣肚沙灘的家。

感謝Hans和Sally，我們南丫島的獸醫團隊…… 沒有他們不懈的指導和治療，Sassy不可能如此平靜地離世。 🙏🙏🙏

✨✨✨ 告別儀式 ✨✨✨

背景音樂是現場真實的鳥鳴聲，好多的鳥兒，簡直就是一首最美妙的交響樂！

Sassy過世前後，麻雀們都出現了，它們不停地在她居住的灌木叢上空盤旋…… 彷彿在向她告別！

是最美麗的告別儀式……..
我們見過的最神聖的儀式。

Sassy贏得了所有人的尊重。她總是對所有生物種都那麼的溫柔善良。

動物不需要人類
直到人類毀了它們的生活

我們多麼希望今天早上能有香檳慶祝…...
但更適當的是，在為她簡單清理後，我們尊重了她的空間，讓她在生命的最後時刻與她的「家人」安詳地相伴。

這是我們從狗狗居民Squash身上學到最重要的一課。

他知道這是Sassy的重要時刻，自從我們把她從加護安排送回大灣肚沙灘後，他就一直很安靜。他總是在不遠處待在她身邊，默默地守護著她…… 他就這樣讓她自己一個，因為他知道這才是她需要的。

他對她有著最偉大、最無私的愛，充滿尊重，並且總是給她足夠的空間。

餘下最後一個要好好守護的就是….. Squash。

In early December, under the arrangement of Lamma Animal Welfare Centre and , we conducted a "Trap-Neuter-Release" ( ) operation.

Thanks to the private covered area provided by Mrs. Mok, the owner of Hung Shing Yeh convenience store, as a shelter for the cats, we were able to successfully relocate them.

Last November, the program was officially launched!

The primary goal is to find resources to provide a stable food supply for the community's animals.

This is all thanks to the support of our community.

Many donated valuable items that we sold to raise funds for food, all living supplies and medical care for the rescued animals awaiting adoption and some sponsored;

The neighbour provided contact information for quality, affordable food suppliers;

When our dry food supplies failed to arrive in time in mid-October, Pets Village generously donated a large quantity of kibble samples, which not only solved our immediate crisis but also saved us a considerable amount.

Our three community dogs have received food and treats from those who have quietly cared for them over the years. Volunteers Sandrine B Nathalie and Colin Clarke feed them in shifts day and night.

With a stable feeding location, the Hung Shing Yeh cats are no longer forced to forage for food at the garbage dump at night, especially the kittens who have been struggling to survive under such harsh conditions!

This location also makes the operation, which needs to be completed so desperately, much more effective!

These four darling kittens, then 2 month old, were spotted playing energetically under the blazing sun the day before the TNR operation in December. They didn't seem too afraid of people!

To give them a better life, we sent them to Calum Macintyre Page as foster a few days later… They're absolutely thrilled with their new home under Calum's care!

Every evening – the cat house door is wide open for free play! They play until they're tired, and every night return to their room (a big cat cage) to sleep at 10 pm sharp! 😴💗

This past Saturday, they just received their first vaccinations… They are READY for their own homes!

We're pairing them up according to their level of closeness, either with two males or two females, to help them find loving homes 🐾🫶

With homes, they can no longer climb trees, no longer feel the nourishment of the earth. In some homes, they can no longer nap under the blazing sun. Then, at least we can give them enough happiness?
They are individuals with flesh and blood, feelings, joy, and sorrow. That happiness comes from interaction with their own packs, which is especially essential for the physical and mental development of young kittens, and something that humans can never ever replace.

12月初，在 Lamma Animal Welfare Centre 跟 的安排下，我們進行了「捕捉絕育放回計劃 」行動。

由於得到洪聖爺灘士多老闆娘莫太為毛孩提供的私人有蓋場地作為安身之所。去年11月， #社區毛孩社區養 計劃正式啟動了！

首要目標，是尋找資源為社區毛孩提供穩定糧食。

這全靠各街坊支持，無論是..... 有些街坊資助、有些捐出好物讓我們賣出換來資金購買糧食及救援後待領養動物的一切生活物資及醫療所須、提供優質低廉糧供應商聯絡資料的街坊、在十月中乾糧未能趕及運送，Pets Village 慷慨捐出龐大份量的乾糧sample，足以解決當前燃眉之急之餘，更讓我們省下不少； #大灣肚 的三個社區狗狗，這多年來一直得到一羣默默守護著他們的街坊提供食物零食；義工 Sandrine B Nathalie 和 Colin Clarke 更每天分日夜班餵飼。

洪聖爺貓咪羣有了穩定餵食地點，便能免於他們在山邊繼續在晚間要到垃圾站找食物的生活，尤其是不斷出生的貓B一直在這種嚴峻情況下勉強成長生存！

也因為有了這個場地，必須盡快完成的TNR，進行時便能夠有效得多！

這四個當時兩個月大的貓寶寶，就是在12月的TNR行動進行前一天，我們在場地見到他們飛天遁地的在大太陽底下玩耍，看來也不是太怕人！

為了給他們一個更好的生活，隔幾天我們便把他們送到愛心暫托人 Calum Macintyre Page 家裏….. 在這個家和Calum的照顧下，他們可樂透了！

每天傍晚時候 - - - 貓屋門長開，是自由活動時間！他們玩夠玩累，每晚十點便依時自行回到房間(貓屋)睡覺！😴💗

剛過去的星期六，他們打了第一支防疫針…. 他們，已經做好有家的準備了！

我們因應他們之間的親密程度，以兩男或兩女的配對，幫助他們尋找屬於他們的愛家 🐾🫶

轉眼Chloe妹妹嚟到南丫島已經超過一個月
一直住喺充滿愛嘅暫托家
期間經歷咗好多第一次
第一次打針(12月23號已經齊針)
第一次M到 (原來已經差唔多一歲女啦！）
妹妹動靜皆宜
喺屋企會好乖乖自己玩玩具 🧶
見到🐶哥哥姐姐會好興奮
出街精力充沛 絕對係行山之友 🏃🤸
哈！大家真係唔好以為細狗係唔需要出街，OK？🤣

Chloe has been on Lamma Island for over a month now, staying at our loving foster home.
She's experienced so many of her firsts!
Her first vaccination (she got all her shots on December 23rd!)
Her first period (she's almost a year old already!)
Chloe is a wonderful balance of companion and outdoor mate with loads of playfulness.
At home, she plays quietly by herself with her toys 🧶
She gets very excited when she sees her older dog friends 🐶
When outdoors, she's full of energy and a perfect hiking companion 🏃🤸
Haha! Don't think little dogs don't need to go out, okay? 🤣
