Labubu at the Palliative Care Center
Have you ever felt that life in the late stage is peaceful yet isolated from the world? Have you ever thought there’s no need to engage with new things in society anymore? In fact, many patients in late-stage care are very interested in what’s happening in the world and want to learn more—or even share their thoughts with you. Similarly, caregivers might have their own passions and interests, but due to the demands of caring for their loved ones and balancing work, many set these aside.
When volunteers bring the latest happenings in society, transforming them into something tangible like balloons and presenting them to the patients, the entire family lights up with joy! Palliative care emphasizes holistic well-being—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. When patients can once again learn about and share new ideas, it reduces feelings of being neglected by society (a phenomenon known as "social death"). This is incredibly meaningful and brings a touch of joy to their late-stage life, as well as to their caregivers.
Could Labubu perhaps contribute to life and death education too?
