Our Live Case Demonstration is an important feature of AAFT, providing a platform for clinical and intellectual exchange among professionals from different cultures. It provides a rare opportunity for participants to take part in the case formulation and live family interviews conducted by Wai Yung Lee, Ph.D. and other experienced family therapy trainers. The cases cover a spectrum of developmental issues and are referred by professionals from various disciplines. Our approach is trans-disciplinary-oriented, including the fields of psychiatry, psychology, social work, pediatrics, and family medicine.

【Family Therapy with Psychiatric Patients (Fall 2025) 】
Join our course designed specifically for psychiatrists and mental health professionals!
The course consists of eight didactic lectures and two live case demonstration sessions. It aims to introduce how family therapy can be applied to a range of mental health problems presented in children, adolescents and adults. Videos from live sessions will be used extensively to illustrate the assessment and treatment
process in linking the presenting symptom to family dynamics.
The course will show the difference in handling a range of behavioral and emotional problems that is handled in the family context as compared to handling them individually. Segments from live family interviews will be used to demonstrate this specific approach. This course will be taught by Dr. Kam Wai Kwok Irene and Dr Chow Lai Yin Dickson. Both of them are Specialists in Psychiatry.

【Jockey Club Family Therapy Programme：Public Talk - The Application of the Multiple Self Model (MSM) for Chinese Wives of Problem Gamblers】

In this talk, we will explore how the Chinese Women’s Multiple Selves Model (MSM) illuminates the shifting identities of Chinese wives of problem gamblers in Hong Kong. We will examine how these women embody multiple interconnected selves that are constantly evolving and competing, providing a fresh perspective on their identities within family dynamics.
Additionally, we will discuss the therapeutic technique known as “shift of self” and its application in supporting these wives. We will also explore how MSM can be effectively combined with other family therapy approaches and adapted to various contexts.

This workshop is the second in a series, following the session on June 25, 2025. While it builds on previous discussions, the topics will be presented in a way that is accessible without prior knowledge of the June workshop.

【跨代家庭的前因後果】
為了準備一個有關跨代家庭的工作坊，一直忙着整理這一方面的臨床資料。這個由李錦記家族慈善基金所資助的項目，主要是研討跨代家庭各種人際關係的動力，從而瞭解多代家庭的運作及改善方向。

很多人以為跨代家庭的工作就是探討原身家庭，其實範圍遠不止如此。所有代與代之間的各種因緣和合，關係的衝擊，情緒的起落；愛的喜悅，情的牽掛、失落和無奈，這些經驗都是形成我們個性發展和精神健康的關鍵。

跨代家庭有一個重要的理念：很多無法解釋的問題，都可以追溯到一些數代前沒有解決的矛盾。我特別喜歡由孩子開始，因為從孩子出現的問題，往往都可以追溯到家族的千絲萬縷，老中青三代的代代相連。

有趣的是，近代所見到的跨代家庭，不但涉及三代或三代以上，而且還多了很多重組家庭，這對一脈相承的傳統思想是一個很大的挑戰......

【賽馬會家庭治療計劃：互動工作坊 - 支援夫婦共同面對生育挑戰-從醫學到婚姻關係的全面關懷】
當懷孕計劃遇阻時，夫婦需要醫學與心理的雙重支持。本講座由婦產科醫生與家庭治療師共同主講，從「雙軌角度」切入：本工作坊首先解析難孕常見原因，包括年齡、荷爾蒙與精卵品質等關鍵指標，提供各年齡層懷孕成功率數據，幫助夫婦科學規劃生育時程。內容涵蓋月經周期觀察、小產後恢復評估等自我管理技巧，以及IUI/IVF等輔助生育療程選項的適用情境與流程，並分析高齡妊娠風險管理。
同時工作坊同樣著重伴侶溝通，分享如何解讀診斷報告，避免伴侶間互相指責與愧疚，並探討夫婦在治療過程中的角色調整與情感支持，如何開放討論其他家庭計劃的替代方案。透過專業醫療知識與心理支持技巧，協助夫婦建立有效溝通，強化伴侶關係，共同面對生育挑戰。

林慧翔醫生（Dr. Mona LAM）現任香港家庭計劃指導會（The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong）執行總監，家計會為志願機構，致力為港人提倡、推廣及提供性與生殖健康方面的資訊、教育、醫療及輔導服務。
作為婦產科專科醫生，林醫生致力於促進女性及家庭健康，並曾在公營醫療系統服務逾二十年。此外，她亦參與不同專業組織及社會服務工作。
李淑霞姑娘（Ms. Lucy Shuk-Ha LEE）在香港中文大學完成家庭輔導及家庭教育碩士課程後，遠赴英國倫敦國王學院取得家庭治療碩士學位。李姑娘自2020年起致力發展及推廣家庭治療教育工作，曾擔任英國修咸頓大學醫科生家庭治療課導師，以及香港大學社會科學學院講師，現為亞洲家庭治療學院的項目聯席總監。

【Jockey Club Family Therapy Programme：Interactive Workshop - Management of Paediatric Developmental and Behavioural Issues by Dr CHENG Man Yung 兒科醫生鄭文容對兒童發展與行為問題的處理】

This workshop focuses on prevention and treatment of Childhood Developmental and Behavioural problems.

Based on his extensive experience as a Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician, Dr. Cheng will share specific case examples to illustrate ways of working through these challenges, including:
• Appreciation of the characteristics of the newborn and the child.
• Transition from childhood to adolescence.
• Refusal to go to school.
• Bullying.
• Fighting.
• Abdominal pain.
• Chest pain.
• Urticaria.
• Syncope.

【阿執司的「我」與「我們」】
《虎毒不》是一套2025年上映的香港電影。它是一個關於新手媽媽患上抑鬱症的故事，也是一套讓我們反思「我」與「我們」的電影。

淑貞與丈夫及奶奶一起居住。她一直渴望生兒育女，做一個媽媽。好不容易終於懷孕並誕下女兒，但初為人母的快樂好像只得那麼一陣子。坐月子後，淑貞想兼顧麵包師傅的工作和育兒。可惜事與願違，諸事不順。工作間沒有一個可以讓她安心衛生地泵取人奶的地方，餵哺母乳又導致乳腺發炎，疼痛不已。繁忙的工作後再要照顧嬰兒，疲憊的程度可想而知，經常兩面不是人。淑貞堅持做一個出色的麵包師傅，同時也希望自己是一個一百分的媽媽。可惜奶奶對她的冷嘲熱諷和丈夫的被動不合作態度，比起身體上的痛楚和疲乏，更叫她難受。身邊所遭遇到的事和別人所說的話，好像都告訴她，她的每一個信念和所堅持的東西，都是徒然的。淑貞的「我」逐漸被吞噬，她的精神一天比一天萎靡⋯⋯
