Abbie Chan, M.A.
Abbie is a Behavior Therapist with extensive ABA experience working with children, parents and caregivers to achieve their goals in a natural setting since 2015. She aspires to bridge the gap for children aged 3 to 15 between a self-contained environment and a society setting. She specializes in exploring the dynamics between social and behavioral reactions, providing guidance on effective expressions and improving self-control and social interactions.
Abbie has been in different roles around ABA since she graduated. She has experience using ABA techniques in her behavior management plan to further enhance the efficacy of her sessions with children and parents. She also collected data and analyzed in a systematic way to report the children's progress to promote visibility and consistency. In some circumstances, she collaborated with Speech Therapists and Educational Psychologists for analyzing specific cases in order to tailor-make a behavior intervention plan.
Abbie earned her Bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada and her Master's degree in Educational Counselling from The Education University of Hong Kong. With more than 1,500 practical hours working with children in need, she is currently sitting for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) certification exam with a goal of attainment in 2020.
