Birth Preparation involves understanding the role of the pelvic floor muscles.
Did you know they facilitate cardinal movement of the baby & its descent into the pelvic canal plus they stretch & open to allow the fetal head to pass?
Our top tips
- know how to “contract”, (switch on) plus “relax”, (turn off) your pelvic floor muscles
- practice Belly & deep breathing cycles. Your pelvic floor & diaphragm work together.
- practice breathing & pelvic floor muscle relaxation in stretchy positions - deep squat, butterfly position, happy baby
- practice regular hip/pelvic mobility as your pelvic floor @ hip muscles are closely linked.
