Naturopathy is very different to allopathic medicine. In allopathic medicine you go to the all-powerful doctor who tests you and gives you drugs to stop the symptoms that you are feeling. You lose sovereignty over your own health. Allopathic medicine places minimal emphasis on good lifestyle practices. It blames bacteria, viruses and ‘luck’.
Naturopathic medicine puts you back in charge of your own health. It’s about tapping into your own body and learning the practices and protocols not only to use when you are sick but the daily practices to do every day to keep you well. When people present with health conditions, I blame parents, teachers, toxins, crappy food, pharmaceuticals and the world at large for not teaching us how to truly look after ourselves. It’s a big mindset shift and some people never get there, but the small percentage of the population that are healthy, don’t take meds and feel great, are disciplined in doing these activities every day. It’s up to you which way you’d like to jump, up to you how healthy you want to be and how good you want to feel. It’s up to you to look after your own body.
