Our time on Earth is too short to waste on fleeting things and moments.

Eternity is forever.

Why not invest this brief time here on Earth in resolving the issues that might prevent you from spending eternity with God?

“Teach me, O LORD, about the end of my life. Teach me about the number of days I have left so that I may know how temporary my life is.” Psalm 39:4 (God’s Word Translation)

No one likes to consider themselves evil; most people view themselves as good. However, there is no definitive measure to determine one's level of goodness.

This is why when a rich young man addressed the Lord Jesus as a Good Master, Jesus corrected him by saying, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God." (Mark 10:18).

If the Lord Jesus did not consider Himself good, who are we to think we are?

Thinking of oneself as good can lead to certain risks, including:

🚨Pride: Comparing oneself to others and looking down on those who make mistakes.
🚨 Compensating for wrongs: Believing that one's good deeds outweigh any mistakes made.
🚨 Complacency: Lack of motivation for self-improvement.
🚨 Overconfidence: When it comes to eternity, one might believe they are saved and will spend it with God, but in reality, they may be lost.
🚨 Causing Strain in Relationships: Excessive confidence can come across as arrogance, leading to tensions with others.

By acknowledging our shortcomings and realizing our imperfections, we continuously strive to improvement, which leads us to seek God's mercy and guidance.

“As it is written:"There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one." Romans 3:10-12

This week on Real Talk, we delve into the journey of Mylene Solasco. As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), she sent money to her mother, trusting she would care for her daughter. Surprisingly, she found out that her mother was using the money to travel and enjoy a beach lifestyle with friends, while neglecting her own granddaughter.

Can you connect with her experience? Tune in to this week's episodes airing Monday to Friday on Facebook UCKG Hong Kong or Instagram uckghk

Today, my husband and I celebrate 26 years of marriage. Often, when people learn about the length of our union, their immediate reaction is one of amazement, typically expressed with a resounding "Wow!" However, if you think about it, such a reaction shouldn't be necessary. Longevity in marriage should be seen as the norm, not the exception. After all, most couples vow to stay together "until death do us part," a commitment intended to last a lifetime. It seems that worldly trends have shifted our perceptions, causing people to be surprised by what should be a standard expectation.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Some may believe that individuals with strong personalities are the ones who achieve success in life, but this is not always the case. Strong-willed individuals can be stubborn and set in their ways, often overshadowing and overwhelming those around them, making them challenging to interact with.

To cultivate strong and positive relationships, it is essential to be willing to set aside our own ego and be open to listening and considering the viewpoints of others. We do not possess all the knowledge in the world, and by letting go of our dominant traits, we create space for those around us to flourish.

As the Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 4:12 suggests, allowing a part of ourselves to "die" can lead to growth and vitality in others: "So then death is working in us, but life in you."
