In honour of yesterday, we’ve partnered with 852prints] to launch a few mental health greeting cards 🌟

The theme for this years mental health day was mental health in an unequal world and served to highlight the discrepancy in the access to mental health services around the world.

One sticking point preventing people from accessing the services they need is the stigma people experience when they talk about their mental health. It’s this stigma that can make it hard for people to reach out when they need help.

Similarly, it can be hard for people to find the words to show their support for loved ones going through a tough time. Writing simple messages of support can encourage people to open up the conversation. Our cards are a great way to reach out 🤝

Let people know it’s okay to not be okay, and that you’re there for them through these challenging times 🥰

One thing I love about my job is being able to work with people in many different fields - from students to athletes to lawyers to recruiters and other corporate firms. 👩🏻‍🏫⛹🏼‍♂️👩🏽‍⚖️👨🏾‍💻

Earlier this month we held a performance and wellbeing workshop with a leading executive search firm. Through a variety of different exercises we strived to empower the team towards their goals, discussed ways to overcome workplace problems and learnt to manage difficult thoughts and emotions. It was so pleasing to see such glowing feedback about the session! 💥

Drop us a message to see how we could help you, and your company, thrive.

Everyone who contributed and participated in the should be proud. What a great event highlighted by tumbling records, personal bests and first-time medalists 🥇 And all this amidst a pandemic and all the challenges it brings!

An excellent demonstration of mental fortitude to prepare, adapt and stay resilient through an Olympics that was like no other 💪🏼🔥

How does your thinking influence your behaviour? Do your thoughts tend to help you, or hold you back? 💭

Challenge unhelpful thoughts and cultivate flexible thoughts that empower you to take charge of what you can control and accept what you can’t.

If you catch yourself having non-flexible thoughts, actively try to change that because it will drastically improve your outlook on life. Let me know how this works for you👍🏻

Be flexible in your thinking! 💭

Cognitive flexibility is the ability to adapt our thoughts and behaviours according to our surroundings. This is an important quality as it is associated with a higher resistance to negative life events and stress (aka resilience) and improved overall well-being.

The flexibility of our thinking depends on three factors:

👉Awareness - being alert in situations and considering multiple variables simultaneously
👉Adaptability - the ability to change reactions to suit a different situation
👉Confidence - knowledge and belief in one’s own capability to exert control in given situations and react accordingly to the most recent information

Both the favourites and the current holders are out of this year’s Euros! 🤯What went wrong? ⚽️

Expectations were high for both France 🇫🇷 and Portugal 🇵🇹 to go far in this year’s tournament after winning the World Cup in 2018 and the Euros in 2016 respectively 🏆 However, they were both knocked out in the round of 16 😵

It’s important to acknowledge that there are many factors that contributed to the disappointing campaigns (and I do also acknowledge that Portugal came up against a very tough Belgium team) but here are a few lessons I believe we can learn:

👉Winning can build hunger for more success, but it’s important we manage our expectations. Don’t take anything for granted.
👉We add more pressure to ourselves when we focus on things out of our control e.g. the outcome of a match. Focus on playing your best possible game on the day. That will give you the best chance of winning.
👉Strive to achieve rather than avoid. At 1-0 down to Switzerland, France had nothing to lose and strived to outplay their opponents and come back into the game. At 3-1, however, France were simply playing to avoid conceding a goal and any possible Swiss comeback. You often attract the object of your focus. Suddenly it’s 3-3 and they’re out on penalties.
👉Collective effort outweighs individual brilliance. Strive to play as a team.

What else can we learn from these Euros so far? Who do you think will win? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Let us know in the comments!
