Emerging Minds: https://emergingminds.com.au/resources/talking-to-children-about-natural-disasters-traumatic-events-or-worries-about-the-future/
Social Welfare Department (HK):https://www.swd.gov.hk/storage/asset/section/405/en/eng_leaflet_1_HC.pdf

For parents and caregivers in Hong Kong, here are gentle ways to support your children emotionally in the days ahead.
For Younger Children:
• Reassure safety — Remind them that adults are here to protect them, and fires like this are rare.
• Limit exposure — Avoid repeated news or social media coverage.
• Encourage expression — Let them draw, play, or talk to express their feelings.
• Keep routines steady — Familiar routines help restore emotional stability.
For Older Children & Teenagers:
• Acknowledge their awareness — They may have seen news, videos, or even the smoke. Invite them to share what they know.
• Correct misinformation — Offer clear, factual updates without unnecessary details.
• Validate their feelings — Worry, sadness, fear, or curiosity are all normal.
• Encourage coping strategies — Maintain routine, get physical movement, and talk to trusted adults (teachers/parents).
