Attended the 5th International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) Conference today, and what an incredible experience it was! 🌍✨
On behalf of Love 21 Foundation, I had the honour to present our community dietetic work through both oral and poster presentations. 🎤📜 The positive feedback I received was truly heartwarming—many attendees told me how much they enjoyed my presentation and felt inspired by the work we’re doing. That encouragement means so much to me! 🙌 🥰
Here are a few key takeaways that really stood out to me: research is the foundation of evidence-based practice, shaping policies and transforming the lives of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Collaboration and sustainability are absolutely essential for building a healthier, fairer, and more inclusive future for everyone. 💡
Connecting with people from all over the world was such an eye-opening and enriching experience. The exchange of ideas and knowledge sparked exciting possibilities for future collaborations, including joint publications, innovative projects, and potential funding opportunities. Knowing that our collective efforts can make a real difference fills me with so much hope and motivation. Together, we can create a brighter future for individuals with IDD. 💪
A particular highlight of our discussions was exploring how probiotics can support gut health, sleep, and mood in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the gut-brain axis. It’s amazing to see how nutrition can play such a meaningful role in improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by IDD. 🥗🧠
I’m feeling inspired, energised, and ready to continue driving change! 🌟
