🌟 Last week, HKETA had the pleasure of attending the Spring Gathering and Volunteer Appreciation Night hosted by the Hong Kong Stoma Association (HKSA) . It was a heartwarming evening! 🎉 Our executive members engaged with professionals from the wound and ostomy care sectors in Hong Kong and Macau, discussing ways to better support our ostomy patients and their families.

During this event, we established valuable connections with professionals from healthcare, social services, and government sectors. This cross-sector collaboration allows us to gain a comprehensive understanding of community needs and explore effective solutions together. 💪💖

HKSA is a dedicated patient self-care group committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by ostomy patients. By providing essential support and resources, HKSA empowers patients to regain confidence and live fulfilling lives. Similarly, HKETA is devoted to advancing professional knowledge and skills, ensuring that ostomy patients receive the highest standard of care. Together, our partnership strengthens our ability to serve the community more effectively.

🌟 We’re so excited to share the wonderful experience we had at our recent Wound Care Workshop! 🌟

We welcomed 36 amazing participants who joined us for an afternoon filled with learning and laughter as we dove into the world of incontinence-associated dermatitis and skin tears/fragile skin.

Our program was designed to be engaging and hands-on:
1️⃣ We kicked things off with some enlightening theory, where we explored the latest updates on IAD (GLOBIAD) and skin tears (ISTAP).
2️⃣ Then came the fun part! In our scenario-based workshop, participants rolled up their sleeves and got involved in practical exercises. We had lively group discussions and tackled real-life scenarios, learning how to manage IAD in different situations and care for fragile skin.

It was truly a joyful afternoon, and we loved seeing everyone so engaged and eager to learn! A huge thank you to all who joined us and made this event so special. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to connect and grow together! 💖🙌
