My yoga practice has been sorely lacking. You’d think working double hours and having a hectic schedule would inspire me to relax on the mat more…it’s hard. Having the time to dedicate to practice is hard. But it is doable.

My first attempt at the . It is also important to remind ourselves that our practice is ours. And ours alone. Though it’s not easy, it is important to remind ourselves that we are all on different yogic paths. My path has been off and on.

I consider myself a quick learner when it comes to new yoga poses. I consider this my challenge and my own practice. But make no mistake, I always have my blocks ready for free fall. 😂

Not one for creative license but I’m finally ready physically and mentally to teach a few classes again. Ignore my efforts on

With covid regulations in Hong Kong being an absolute nightmare, things have finally loosened enough to be able to comfortably hold classes again. Whether in your home or at the park, I would love to guide you through a class where I not only get you nice and stretched out, but also you’ll leave with a calmer mind (hopefully!)

My aim and my goal is not to have you contorted and Instagram ready, but to help you feel better and more comfortable in your own skin. Yoga is for everyone regardless of ability, size or strength.

You all know the drill. My inboxes are available. If you have my number, message me there too! I will teach in person and on zoom (if I must!)

Hey everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. I’ve been struggling with my mental health and work to the point where I have kind of neglected my yoga and wellness practice. But it’s 2022 and I am hoping to open a few more yoga slots. If you’re lucky, you get a guided relaxation too!

If you’re in Hong Kong or overseas, get in touch and we can certainly work something out!

Rather than trying to work on getting new yoga teaching work, I’ve been turning more inward into my own personal yoga practice. A decent chunk of people who do a teacher training do this to deepen their own understanding of yoga, rather than immediately seek to teach.

The past month or so, I have been practicing meditation more regularly than my asana work to aid me in my mental health journey and to sooth my anxiety. There is something very soothing about spending a good 10 minutes doing nothing but focus on YOU.

If I can get myself to a better headspace, my hope is to bring those mental tools to help others. 🙏🏻

Through my line of work, I have always been told, “you do such a good job with XYZ”, or “only you know how to do this job like XYZ”. I value and honour comments like this. I absolutely thrive off positivity and I’m sensitive with comments aimed at me. But it leaves me in a somewhat vulnerable state where I wonder if taking something FOR ME is selfish because I’m not giving others my time who may need it more than me.

I’ve been pretty burned out to be honest, teaching and working. Which we all need to do, but I’ve found that I’ve not had the chance for me time.

Tonight, I want to challenge myself to grant myself that. Tonight I made the last minute decision to attend a yoga class AS A STUDENT. Not for make up hours, not because I am being told to rock up, but because I need to find myself in a position to allow myself to receive without feeling guilty.

May this be Step One in allowing myself more grace and kindness to myself.

Because after all, how can you look after others if you aren’t looking after yourself?

So I’ve been doing yoga for a fair couple of years now. I’ve also got in the fingers as well since well…a long time. I also took part as a test subject a couple of years ago with Kathy Randolph when she led a workshop with . She taught me an exercise to help me with my fingers. I admittedly put it on the back burner but I’ve found myself coming back to it more.

The first photo was taken in 2020 with the coloured photo taken tonight. As I have been practicing more on the mat, I’ve been able to work with my hands more. Tonight’s practice in particular also made me realise my hands were somehow more supple and stretchy. I took a comparison and I reckon the yoga practice of 4 years has played a part in my fingers starting to work properly again. Isn’t that cool!?

Ironically, I’m not a fan of using blocks in my yoga sequences as I believe that it’s a cheats way out and you’re not exerting fully into your postures. But I’m not saying blocks are completely useless. However in this case of a lifted dandasana, (lifted seated pose) , I feel like the blocks added that extra height and work that I often crave. And gave my biceps a nice work out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today’s Shoulder stand practice with with added adjustments. Personally not a fan of someone holding me during shoulderstand, but I appreciate that this is helpful for some.

7am calls are not my forte but I woke up extra early this morning to watch receive an award for best Accessible Yoga organisation of the year. I am so so chuffed to be working with these amazing people, striving to make yoga inclusive and accessible for all.

Jivana asked if some of us could share our journey and naturally I jumped in. Along with my wise cracks and need to put an actual shirt over my sport’s bra, I talked a little about how yoga was nothing to me 3 years ago. I didn’t want to be a part of it as I felt it had no worth to me. But fast forward to now, and I have viewed accessible yoga as not just yoga for people with special needs. But also those who are not comfortable in the studios where tall, skinny, perfect bodies etc. We need to be accessible for them as well.

It still stuns me that 2 years ago I completed my 200 hours PLUS my 95 hours AY training. And by the end of next month, I will have added 170 hours on as my intermediate TT.

It was indicated that at the age of 26, I was one of ’s youngest IY 200hour graduates. So I’m hoping I can also clinch the youngest ITT graduate as well! 😄🤣
