【JOCOC X HKOF World Osteoporosis Day 2025】- Highlights Recap

Over 400 people participated in the pre-event health talks and the activities on the day itself, including health talks, assessments, and booth events. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.

社福機構外展活動JOCOC x 救世軍大窩口長者中心】
本中心於今年11月10日於救世軍大窩口長者中心舉辦健康講座「為骨骼健康，我做得到!」，分享如何從日常生活中多攝取高鈣食物、移除家中障礙物、多做負重運動等習慣，以預防及改善骨質疏鬆的問題。一眾參加者均踴躍提問，講座以精彩的問答環節完滿結束。感謝各位踴躍參與！

【Outreach Activity - JOCOC x The Salvation Army Tai Wo Hau Centre for Senior Citizens 】
JOCOC organized an outreach activity at The Salvation Army Tai Wo Hau Centre for Senior Citizens on 10th Nov 2025. The activity aimed to provide bone health education to the church members, sharing on how to prevent and improve osteoporosis through early intervention, a high calcium diet, reorganising the home as well as doing weight-bearing exercises. The participants actively shared their enquiries, and the event ended with an informative Q&A session. Thanks to all members for their active participation!

【社福機構外展活動JOCOC x房協長者安居資源中心】
本中心於今年10月28日於房協長者安居資源中心舉辦的【肌不可失】健康專題講座已經順利舉辦完成。當天我們分享骨質疏鬆與肌肉流失的關係及如何影響長者的健康和活動能力。房協長者安居資源中心的職業治療師亦有介紹家居防跌設計，提升長者家居安全。現場有60多位參加者均踴躍提問，另外亦有近80位參與網上講座。講座以精彩的問答環節完滿結束，感謝各位長者踴躍參與！

【Outreach Activity - JOCOC x Elderly Resources Centre】
JOCOC organized an outreach activity at the Elderly Resources Centre on 28th Oct 2025, and our “Muscle Matters” Health Talk was a great success! The activity aimed to provide bone health education about the connection between osteoporosis and muscle loss, and how these conditions impact the health and mobility of the elderly. An occupational therapist from the Elderly Resources Centre also shared practical tips on fall prevention and home safety design for them. Over 60 participants attended in person and actively engaged with questions, while nearly 80 participants joined us online. The event ended with an informative Q&A session. Thanks to all for their active participation!

Tuen Mun District Health Centre members can participate in the CUHK Community Fall and Fracture Prevention Education & Screening Event, which tests their fall risk, balance, and muscle strength.
September 15, 2025
Around 160 pax seniors age 60 or above were screened for their fall & fracture risks. Their statues were properly explained and they obtained tips to prevent falls and fractures. Please click here for activity highlights.
