Abstract:
Historically focused on halting disease progression and managing tissue loss, periodontal therapy has had a paradigm shift and now embraces a more regenerative ethos—prioritizing restoration of structure.
This lecture focuses on the regenerative approaches—highlighting minimally invasive surgical techniques with the use of biomaterials. Clinical cases will be presented to illustrate the surgical protocols, decision-making processes, and outcome assessments that define modern regenerative practice. By aligning clinical practice with emerging science, this presentation aims to challenge traditional therapeutic boundaries. It encourages clinicians to reimagine periodontal possibilities—not merely as a means to halt destruction, but as a pathway to restore function and long-term health. The goal is to inspire a shift in mindset, from extraction and replacement by implant to saving more teeth.
