Lighthouse: Centre for Mindfulness and Compassionate Living 點燈人正念生活中心
This is an online platform created to share evidence-based knowledge and practices of mindful self-compassion.
This is a page dedicated to the promotion of individual and social well-being through the practice of Mindful Self-Compassion. The Mindful Self-Compassion program and its components are developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Chris Germer by integrating ancient Buddhist wisdom and theories in modern psychotherapy. This is a platform where we could share information about mindfulness and self-compassion, as well as upcoming events related to Mindfulness or Self-Compassion in Hong Kong, and all around the world.
We stand with the victims, families, and helping professionals of the Tai Po Fire Tragedy. This is our first involvement in the post-crisis support service for volunteers and frontline professionals - more community-based charity support services to come.

[ABOUT THE PAGE]
This is a page dedicated to the promotion of individual and social well-being through the practice of mindfulness and self-compassion in Hong Kong.
The page is created with the intention to bring the practice of self-compassion to a wider audience, in regardless of their gender, colors, social status, religious affiliations, etc. We encourage the practice self-compassion is not to make ourselves feel better; we need self-compassion because setbacks (and suffering) is inevitable in our daily life.
In the Chinese culture, we were taught to focus on the perfection of the self, and very often the well-being of the collective often supersede the need of the individuals. And thus, the betterment of the self as a core virtue to person development and the prosperity of the collective. We may try to change in ways that allows us to be healthier and happier; but this is done not because we are worthless, or unacceptable as we are. We may also change because we care about ourselves! That is why I think self-compassion is for everyone.
This is a platform where we could share information about mindfulness and self-compassion, as well as upcoming events related to Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) in Hong Kong. This is also a community where local people can get access to the wisdom, or to get inspired by the practices of others around the world.
