Yoga. Sound Healing. Tea. Sora, meaning 'sky', is guided by the ethos of root to rise.

Set among Poho's rolling hills and winding stairways, Sora awaits in the quaint neighbourhood of towering Banyan trees and aerial roots. An idyllic sanctuary for us who seek a wholistic connection with nature through yoga, meditation, sound healing, sacred arts and tea ceremony. Overlooking the white bauhinia terrace, together we still our minds in quiet contemplation of the reality of nature, or

the nature of reality. We look to our origin, the birth of all things. As we anchor the strength of the ground, and lengthen to the lightness of the clouds - we are at once mindful of our surroundings. By being present and connecting our bodies with the earth and the sky, we are at one with everything and all that is. Close your eyes and breathe reverently. Feel the grounding below your feet, and the warmth of your hands. Listen with your heart and live presently. Attain a state of serenity with a soft gaze that rest gently on the sunlit sky. SORA 悠悠

It might look like just a standing posture, but Mountain Pose is your foundation for most of the posture!

Why fuss over “simple” poses?
Poor alignment - even in a simple standing posture, it creeps into daily life. Over time, it can lead to problems in our joints, muscle imbalances, back and neck tension.

A mindful Mountain Pose builds strength from the ground up and trains your body for better movement on and off the mat.

Stress, anxiety, and the relentless flow of information can leave us feeling frazzled and overwhelmed.

Yoga provides a pathway to tranquility, tapping into the mind-body connection to foster peace and relaxation.

Try these yoga poses designed to calm your mind and cultivate a serene internal and external environment🌿

1) Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose (Viparita Karani): This restorative pose is incredible for calming the nervous system and alleviating stress and fatigue. Lie on your back and extend your legs against a wall, letting your arms rest by your side or overhead. Close your eyes and allow your breath to soften as you feel the grounding effects of this inversion.

2) Child’s Pose (Balasana): This pose promotes calm, allowing you to surrender to the moment and breathe deeply.

Gigi began her yoga journey in 2012, discovering the transformative power of yoga while working as a fashion stylist and designer in Beijing. Struggling with sleep due to long hours in the fashion industry, she found that yoga significantly improved her rest and overall well-being. This sparked a deep interest in the benefits of yoga, leading to formal training in 2019, where they completed RYT700 foundation and advanced yoga teacher training.

As Gigi delved deeper into the practice, she realized the vastness of yoga as a lifelong study. In 2023, Gigi commenced a two-year Iyengar yoga level 1 teacher assessment training, focusing on yoga philosophy, anatomy, and effective teaching methods.

While being aware of all the physical benefits of yoga, Chun now thinks of yoga as the check-in moment for his body, mind, and soul.

Another thing he aspires to do is to infuse yoga into his other commitments so that yoga is an integral part of life beyond the practice on the mat. He hopes to nurture these benefits he has enjoyed for his students by balancing challenge, soothingness and introspection.
