Charlotte has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and completed her 200hr Vinyasa Flow TT in 2009 with US based company "Frog Lotus Yoga". While being in Hong Kong Charlotte has qualified in Pre-natal yoga, Kids Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage and Reiki Levels 1 and 2. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), First Aid, Pilates Mat Level 1 and 100hr Advanced Yoga TT: Anatomy. But her most profound yoga tra

ining experience came from undertaking an Ashtanga Teacher Training intensive with David Swenson in 2013. This led Charlotte to find Ashtanga yoga as her main inspiration for a personal practice which can also be seen to influence her Vinyasa Flow classes. Charlotte's yoga style is a fun, strong and aligned Hatha Flow, aiming to explore yoga poses that connect through attention to Ujjayi (breath), bandhas (internal locks) and drishti (gazing point). Fineprint and myself are hosting a FREE outdoor charity yoga class for Mo’vember - bringing awareness to Men’s health 🙏🏼
We will move and stretch opposite the café at the public space outside of Island Crest. Please bring your own mat/towel/water etc and of course any donation you are able to make for this great cause 🙏🏼😊
This class is suitable for EVERYONE and EveryBODY!

Where are u substituting facts for stories? Can you identify what is pure fact and circumstance and what is your own story that you have created, assumed and interpreted from the facts. What are you making something mean?..... Can you strip away all the words and fantasy and look at each moment or event for what it is - neutral.

This can be a tricky concept to grasp and to get your head around. But it takes a daily practice of observing your thoughts and noticing your reactions to the external world. Try to catch yourself when your thoughts start to whirl, stop and start to separate what is pure fact and what are your thoughts and feelings towards something. I.e. the “story”. Can you be a witness to the story you have created?.....see it then let it go. Tell a new story, a positive one, one that serves you and your greater good.

“But how do I do this”?.... by journaling, writing out all the thoughts that are causing you the diss ease. And setting time for a regular meditation practice, time with yourself to go inward and just observe and watch, just to notice the thoughts without judgment. Start with just 10-15mins each day. Wherever you are! You don’t need to be in a zen garden with bamboo flute playing and a Buddha water feature, or be on top of a mountain?? 😉 of course, that’s nice and definitely helps to connect. But you can meditate anywhere! Just sit, be still, close your eyes, breathe and watch. I commute to see a lot of my clients by ferry ⛴ so I often find myself meditating on the ferry! 👍🏼 I just close my eyes and start. 30 mins....

I’m extremely happy to announce that I’ll be teaching Ashtanga Yoga in Mui Wo at my local studio - Pause HK! At 9am every Saturday! You can book using the MINDBODY app or drop in on the day!

If you are new to yoga or an experienced yoga practitioner and would like to learn and feel the benefits of the Ashtanga method then this class will help you develop a lasting personal yoga practice.

This dynamic form of yoga synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body. With attention to Drishti (gazing point) Ashtanga also helps with focus and concentration, prepare to sweat as you breathe and move through a complete sequence of poses. Different modifications and options will be given to each student to suit their own level.

Every circumstance in our life is neutral, until we attach meaning to it through our thoughts and feelings.

How we think about a circumstance or a person creates a feeling or emotion. This then causes an action thus determining our results that show up in our life.

So, if you want to change your results, then you need to change your thoughts...

The trick?? CHOOSE a different thought. 🤔 💭 Literally, choose a different thought to the one you have about something.

Ask yourself these things ➡️

🔸Is this thought true?
🔸What would I be without that thought or belief?
🔸How would I feel, without that thought or belief?
🔸What feeling do I want to have?
🔸What outcome do I want?

➡️Then change your thoughts to give you that required feeling. ➡️Which in turn causes you to act differently ➡️producing a different result. 😃👏🏼

Of course this takes time and practice to undo habitual programming and thinking. It takes practice to stop and notice your thoughts and to inquire into them. Doing the work can be uncomfortable, it forces us to be accountable for our results.

I find a combination of regular thought inquiry through journaling ✏️ 📓 (a brain 🧠 clean out) and an effective form of meditation helps with this practice.

Yes!! Yoga Anatomy trainings should be continuous study for yoga teachers! I’ve done 4 anatomy teacher trainings and will continue to do so for as long as I keep teaching Yoga. What’s covered in a basic 200 hr is so elementary and not near enough. Students.... if u don’t like an assist you’re getting from a teacher TELL THEM! They need to know.... I personally love a good strong assist 💪🏼 but I have to remind myself that some people don’t like it OR even need it 🙏🏼😊

"The functional purpose of Yin Yoga is the REBOUND" (Paul Grilley)

At the end of each yin pose there is a moment when we lay back, let go and absorb what has moved or changed for us, This physical, mental and emotional shift is an important part of the practice. It gives us time to recalibrate, to absorb and to feel.
