The International Pathology Day workshop was successfully held today!

We extend our sincere gratitude to our College President, Dr. Mak, for his unwavering support in organizing this activity, which reflects a commitment to society and the nurturing of our youth. Dr. Mak delivered an opening speech to 150 secondary school student participants, who greatly enjoyed listening to live demonstrations and learning about various aspects of pathology from our esteemed pathologists.

The Trainee Presentation Session is organized annually in November by the Education Committee to encourage trainees to showcase their research findings.

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Yuen Wang Ho, a trainee in Haematopathology, who is the winner of the Best Presentation Award for this year's session. His presentation was titled "SETBP1-positive Myeloproliferative Neoplasm as a Distinct Disease Entity: Morphological and Genetic Characterization."

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Hong Kong College of Pathologists took place successfully on November 15th, accompanied by the Conferment Ceremony, T.B. Teoh Foundation Lecture, and the Annual Dinner.

Congratulations to all the new Fellows and Members—your achievements are truly impressive!

This year, we were honored to have Prof. To Ka Fai as our distinguished speaker, who presented the T.B. Teoh Foundation Lecture. His talk explored the theme "Between Slides and Soul: Finding Fulfillment at the Intersection of Practicing Histopathologist and Translational Researcher."

What a fantastic afternoon at the Autumn Expressions: A Pumpkin Carving Workshop! The event was hosted by the Young Fellows Chapter of our College, led by Dr. Johann Lok. We had a wonderful time with 15 participants. Our instructor, Dr. Vincent Cheung, is a pumpkin carving enthusiast. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, filled with laughter and artistic expression.

This weekend, the Medical Education Conference (MEC) 2025 is taking place at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. Our President Dr. Mak, and Registrar Dr. Au-yeung, attended the "Position Statement Workshop" this morning and found it beneficial. Other conference topics focus on “Technologies in Medical Education: AI and Beyond,” exploring various innovations.

Dr. Sridhar, Siddharth has been honored with the "2025 Distinguished Young Fellow" award by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, recognizing his outstanding achievements. His research focuses on novel emerging causes of viral hepatitis and their effects on immunocompromised individuals. Additionally, he actively contributes to our College Council and the subcommittees, further demonstrating his commitment to the field.

Today, we held a seminar on “The Use of Postmortem CT in Forensic Neuropathology,” co-organized by the Hong Kong College of Pathologists, the University of Hong Kong, and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).

Assoc. Prof. Linda Iles, a Forensic Neuropathology Specialist, delivered an insightful lecture. The evening concluded with a delightful dinner attended by the College President and Council members. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event!

Mindful Creations: A Handbuilding Pottery Workshop💖

Today, we had a fantastic time at our pottery workshop with 15 participants with Members and Fellows of our College. Everyone explored their creativity, and connected with the materials in a supportive environment.

Under the guidance of our talented instructor, Mr. Ng Ka Ho, participants created beautiful pottery pieces, enhancing their personal expression and well-being. Thank you to everyone who joined us today!

We are happy to share that a lecture by Professor Roger Byard on "Sudden Infant Death" was a resounding success! Held on May 16, 2025, at the Lecture Theatre, Block T, Queen Mary Hospital, the event attracted many enthusiastic attendees.
