Helios - skin regeneration balm
Helios is a natural balm made manually of extra virgin olive oil, beeswax and combinations of healing herbs with the emphasis on Immortelle, Marigold, St John'wort and Yarrow that encourage skin regeneration.
Helios (named by Helichrysum italicum – Immortelle or everlasting flower) contains a combination of plants that are beneficial for all type of skin damages. Regenerative, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties of herbs help to heal wounds, burns, cuts, blisters, swelling, eczema and harder skin disorders, even psoriasis.
Immortelle is a herb that has so many powerful regenerative properties that it can cure, they say, even an old scar. A specific combination of various substances found in Immortelle has made this plant unavoidable in skin treatment. Immortelle has a significant effect on the production of collagen and elastin, improves microcirculation, and therefore detoxifies and cleanses the skin, makes it soft, smooth, nourished and preserved from drying and new damages.
Marigold helps to heal wounds, ulcers, enlarged veins, rashes, eczema and related conditions. Carotenoids are powerful antioxidants, saponins reduce swelling and induce microcirculation, together with flavonoids, they function anti-inflammatory.
Comfrey - stimulates cell growth in general. The specific combination of substances involved in the construction of comfrey and the root, which pe*****tes deep into the soil, from where it draws a large number of nutrients, are the reason for its healing properties and wide application. Allantoin, as the main active ingredient of the root, stimulates tissue regeneration, and the plant hormone auxin (Greek word auxein - "grow / grow") easily creates new tissue, so wounds heal quickly.
St John'wort is used as a herbal preparation for skin due to anti-inflammatory and regenerative abilities, since the Middle Ages. Thanks to an interesting pharmacological composition, especially hypericin and hyperforin that act antioxidatively, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, this herb reduces redness and inflammation, restores damaged, wrinkled or irritated skin.
Yarrow helps wound healing thanks to the tannins acting as adstringens, flavonoids found in many yellow blooming herbs work antiinflammatory, borneol is antimicrobial, and cineol is an antiseptic.
Lavandin has antiseptic properties that may help prevent infections. It may also speed up the healing of cuts.
Bay leaf is nature’s blissful gift for healing wounds and skin infections at ease. With its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties, the fresh and dried leaves along with the essential oil have been in use in healing wounds, scars, bruises, cuts, insect bites and minor skin allergies. Bay leaves were used in folklore medicine as a remedy for venomous snake bites, poisonous stings and bites.
Considering that St John'wort is photosensitive grass, you should avoid direct sun.
I belive the reason why this balm has helped many people (for last 14 years) because it's complex composition, so these herbs are also in the balm and help recover and restore tissue: Chamomile, Mullein, Oak, Plantain, Toadflax, Elder, Basil, Melissa, Nettle, Thyme…
