In February 2025, Kumbh Mela, one of the largest and holiest festivals in Hinduism, will take place. Millions of pilgrims from around the world flock to this most sacred of Hindu gatherings.
The festival rotates among four river locations in India: Haridwar on the Ganges, Ujjain on the Shipra, Nashik on the Godavari, and Prayagraj at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. It is held in cycles of approximately 12 years, based on the astrological positions of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter.
Kumbh Mela offers pilgrims the chance to bathe in the sacred rivers, considered an act of purification from sins and spiritual renewal. The festival is also filled with various rituals, prayers, meditations, spiritual discourses, and opportunities to meet many religious leaders and teachers. This event is not just a spiritual journey but also a vivid display of Indian culture, tradition, and faith in their purest form.
Does India call out to you sometimes? What do you think about an organized group journey to this festival? It would be an opportunity for a small group of maximum 8 people, and it would be an all inclusive guided journey, a trip into another world really.
This is not a trip for the simply curious and adventurous types tho... it requires a call from somewhere deep in the soul, and a devotional spark in the heart... If you feel this tickle, get in touch. More details soon.
