Last week Madrid was a global hub for education in minimally-invasive spinal neurosurgery.
Our neurosurgeon prof. Karlo Houra, MD, PhD took part as an invited speaker and instructor in an international meeting and advanced course on endoscopic spine surgery, organised by MaxMoreSpine. He delivered three major lectures on transforaminal and interlaminar endoscopic spine procedures, as well as on the learning curve in endoscopic spine surgery.
The course had a strong international character - spine specialists from 13 countries attended, together with internationally recognised faculty from Spain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Croatia.
A particularly interesting highlight was that some of the faculty took their first steps in endoscopic spine surgery through training at our hospital. Today, they successfully operate on patients in their home countries and apply our guidelines in clinical practice, using our materials and references in their presentations.
In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experience, new professional connections were established and foundations were laid for future expert meetings, in the interest of the international community and, above all, our patients.
