Kod pregleda osoba s bolovima u Ahilovoj tetivi veliki je propust ne pogledati i njihovu obuću!
U nedjelju se istrčao 31. Zagrebački maraton.
Istrčao ga je i naš budući arhitekt Lovro, iako je 6 tjedana ranije imao tegoba s Ahilovom tetivom.
Srećom, ozljeda je bila tek u nastajanju, pa je uz kratki prekid treniranja bilo dovoljno zamijeniti tenisice novim stabilnijim modelom i problem je bio riješen.
Maraton je uspješno istrčan! Čestitamo Lovri i svim sudionicima!
Zato ponovo podsjećam da za trčanje koristite stabilne tenisice, čak i kada nemate nikakvih tegoba.
Na taj način smanjujete opterećenje i prevenirate potencijalne ozljede.

When examining someone with Achilles tendon pain, it's a major oversight not to look at their footwear!
This Sunday marked the 31st Zagreb Marathon.
Lovro, a future architect, completed it despite experiencing Achilles tendon issues just 6 weeks prior.
Fortunately, the injury was in its early stages. A short break from training, followed by switching to more stable trainers, helped the pain to subside.
He successfully completed the marathon. Congratulations to Lovro and the all participants!
And just a reminder... always wear stable trainers for running, even if you're not experiencing any discomfort. This reduces strain and helps prevent potential injuries.

Dragi naši, ako imate problem s koljenom ili kukom nemojte plivati prsno!!!
Ovih dana me nekoliko naših pacijenata podsjetilo na jednu bitnu stvar.
Vratili su se s mora s bolovima u kuku ili koljenu koje je nekad prije billo ozlijeđeno ili operirano.

Kažu – do mora je sve bilo super i onda kada su već zaboravili da su ikada imali ozljedu – odjednom bol!

Koljena i kukovi općeniti ne vole pokret tzv. „žabice“ koji činimo s nogama kod prsnog plivanja.

To ne znači da morate plivati leđno. Možete plivati slobodnim stilom ili pak rukama nastaviti plivati prsno, a na noge staviti kratke peraje koje će vas prisiliti da nogama radite pokret koji vam neće isprovocirati bol.

Dapače – takvo plivanje će goditi vašim koljenima i još više vašim kukovima.

Stoga, ako vam je ostalo još malo morskog godišnjeg odmora, a imate problema s kukovima ili koljenima – uživajte plivajući na pravi način!😊

If you've got knee or hip trouble, steer clear of doing the breaststroke while swimming!

Lately, a few of our patients have reminded us of something pretty important. They've returned from their seaside getaways with unexpected pain in their hips or knees, which had previously been injured or operated on. It's like everything was fine until their seaside holiday, and then, when they'd almost forgotten about their old injuries, suddenly, the pain came back!

Knees and hips, in general, aren't big fans of the frog-like leg movements that come with breaststroke swimming. But don't worry, you don't have to switch to swimming on your back. You can choose to swim freestyle or, if you're still keen on using your arms for breaststroke, pop on some short fins on your feet. This will encourage a leg movement that won't stir up any pain. In fact, this type of swimming can do wonders for your knees and hips.

So, if you've got a bit of your seaside holiday left and you're dealing with hip or knee issues, make the most of it by swimming the right way!

Nakon artroskopije kuka - uz stručno vođeno vježbanje - aparat za pasivno razgibavanje zgloba ili kako ga popularno nazivamo - kinetek - iznimno je važan u rehabilitaciji.
U prvim postoperacijskim tjednima naših pacijenata posebno smo fokusirani na prevenciju stvaranja priraslica u operiranom kuku, a kinetek nam u tome izdašno pomaže.
Naravno, ako je operacija uključivala i šivanje labruma u početku se mora ograničiti opseg kretnje u kuku.
To nikako ne znači da kinetek treba izostaviti - naprotiv!
Suprotno uvriježenom mišljenju kinetek je poželjno koristiti i po nekoliko sati dnevno.

Tijekom godina smo preko naših pacijenata koji su operirani u našim bolnicama - državnim ili privatnim, ali isto tako i u vrhunskim europskim centrima - došli u kontakt s vodećim europskim artroskopičarima kuka.
I ono što se u toj komunikaciji oko pacijenta uvijek ponavlja je upravo inzistiranje operatera na svakodnevnoj upotrebi aparata za pasivno razgibavanje.

Ipak, kinetek tek u kombinaciji sa stručno vođenim vježbanjem otvara siguran put prema punom oporavku.

Great news! After undergoing hip arthroscopy, our patients are making remarkable progress on their road to recovery. Alongside expert-guided exercises, we've been utilizing a special device called a "kinetek" for passive joint mobilization, and it's proving
to be a game-changer in their rehabilitation journey.

During the crucial early weeks post-surgery, our focus is on preventing adhesions and ensuring optimal healing in the operated hip. Thanks to the kinetek, we're effectively managing this challenge and helping our patients regain their mobility.

You may be wondering if the kinetek is still beneficial if labrum repair was performed. Absolutely! While initially, the range of motion in the hip needs to be limited, incorporating the kinetek into the recovery process remains highly recommended. In fact,
using it for several hours a day has shown promising results.

Dok nam se ne dogodi ozljeda - o laktu baš i ne razmišljamo.
Tek u trenutku kada zbog ozljede ne možemo ispružiti ili saviti lakat postajemo svjesni koliko nam je taj zglob važan.
Pokušajte npr. jesti ili se umiti a da pri tom ne savijete lakat.. sve će vam biti jasno!
Zato svaku ozljedu lakta treba od početka shvatiti ozbiljno - bilo da je riječ o manjem prijelomu koji nije nužno operirati ili o kompliciranom prijelomu koji zahtjeva kiruršku intervenciju.
I u jednom i u drugom slučaju mora se odmah započeti s rehabilitacijom.
Svako odgađanje rehabilitacije može značiti trajni gubitak pokretljivosti.

Most of us take our elbows for granted until an injury occurs. It's only when we can't extend or bend the elbow due to an injury that we realise how crucial that joint is for daily activities. I
magine trying to eat or wash yourself without bending your elbow - everything suddenly becomes a challenge!

That's why it's important to take every elbow injury seriously right from the start, whether it's a minor fracture that doesn't necessarily require surgery or a complicated fracture that requires surgical intervention.
In both cases, rehabilitation must commence immediately to avoid any delay that could lead to a permanent loss of mobility.

Nemojte odgađati rehabilitaciju nakon operacijskih zahvata!

Dogodi nam se da se pacijenti jave na rehabilitaciju tek kada im postane jasno da oporavak ne ide očekivanim tijekom.

Možda ste prečuli preporuku svog kirurga/ortopeda?

Možda mislite - kako ću vježbati kada me sve još toliko boli!?

Možda vas nitko zapravo ni prije ni poslije zahvata nije upozorio da vam je rehabilitacija potrebna?

I sada ste doma s operiranim i bolnim koljenom, gležnjem, laktom.. i nemate blagog pojma što smijete, a što ne, što je dobro činiti, a što ne.. boli vas i osjećate se bespomoćno.

Dugi sati provedeni za računalom i nedostatak tjelesne aktivnosti najčešći su uzrok takvih tegoba.

A kada već govorimo o ozljedama gležnja...

Jedna ortoza donijela je početkom sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća revolucionarnu prekretnicu u liječenju ligamentarnih ozljeda gležnja.

Izumio ju je Amerikanac Glenn Walter Johnson jr.
To je ortoza punjena zrakom koja stabilizira gležanj, a istovremeno Vam omogućuje bolju pokretljivost.
Danas se široko primjenjuje u cijelom razvijenom svijetu.

Kod nas, na žalost, iz nama nepoznatog razloga, nije široko prihvaćena od strane kolega koji se bave ovim tipom ozljeda.
Prema mom iskustvu - ako ozlijedite ligamente gležnja negdje u NJemačkoj, Francuskoj, Italiji ili Austriji - u njihovoj traumatološkoj ambulanti neizostavno ćete dobiti takav tip ortoze.
Srećom, mogu se kupiti u našim ortopedskim dućanima pa ih mi koristimo na veliko zadovoljstvo naših pacijenata!

In the early 1970s, an orthosis was developed that brought a turning point in the treatment of ankle ligament injuries.
The inventor, American Glenn Walter Johnson Jr., created a pneumatic ankle brace that not only stabilises the ankle but also allows for improved mobility.
Today, this type of brace is widely used in developed countries around the world.

Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, it is not as widely accepted in our country.
However, based on my experience, if you sustain an ankle ligament injury in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, or Austria, you will likely be given this type of orthosis in their trauma clinics.
At our clinic, we also use it to great satisfaction among our patients.
