Here are the eight movements of Ba Duan Jin illustrated:

1. Holding up the Heavens: This movement is intended to stretch the body and open energy channels.

2. Draw the Bow to Shoot the Arrow: This movement builds upper body strength and improves focus.

3. Separating Heaven and Earth: This movement balances yin and yang in the body.

4. Wise Owl Gazes Backwards: This movement increases neck flexibility and stimulates the meridians in the area.

5. Big Bear Sways from Side to Side: This movement stretches the spine and improves energy circulation.

6. Touch the Earth and Reach for the Sky: This stretches the whole body and helps release energy.

7. Punching with Focussed Eyes: This trains strength and concentration.

8. Bouncing on toes to Balance the Energy: This last movement helps balance energy throughout the body.
