Medical Ambassadors Haiti (Ambassadeurs Medicaux d'Haiti) is a nonprofit based in Cap Haitien, registered with the Haitian government, working in over 60 communities around Haiti. We use the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) model of sustainable development (see chenetwork.org), training people to improve their lives and those of their neighbors through disease prevention, creating clean water acc
ess, building intra-community connections, micro-enterprise, savings clubs, creating shared space, spiritual renewal, Bible study, and more. We have three full-time staff in Haiti and several dozen volunteer trainers and master trainers, as well as some 1200 volunteer community health evangelists in communities and villages. We carry out small agricultural, water, and microenterprise projects, but only as initiated at the community level. Our real work is education - neighbors teaching neighbors about how to improve life together in villages and neighborhoods. We are a Christian organization whose come out of various denominational traditions. We have embraced the CHE model as we see it as having captured Jesus' example of teaching, caring, and acting in ways that tend to the health, spiritual, social and economic needs of the people around him. We are deeply grateful for the support of our partners Medical Ambassadors International (https://www.facebook.com/Medical-Ambassadors-International-248754768492686/) and World Challenge (https://www.facebook.com/wccommunityministry/?fref=ts)
