Last night was our first Atom A game...🥅🏒

Sometimes we wonder if we are doing the right thing...bending over backwards to make it to every practice and game. Not to mention the extra practices and travel teams. Then there is dryland training, ahem...homework...and god forbid a nutritious meal in between it all.

And let’s not forget the sting of the endless flow of money from our bank account to whatever the latest fee is (sometimes I wonder if my paycheque even made it into my account!).

But then...then you see your boy so proudly come onto the ice with his teammates. And confidently warm up. And then play like a little rockstar, enjoying every minute. Living HIS dream.

And you know...it IS all worth it.

And we ARE doing the right thing.

This boy here is one of the reasons I so very much wanted a successful side gig and extra income. The two loves of his life are hockey and golf. And he is incredibly good at both. The only barrier in him being the best he could be, would be our ability to financially support what it takes to get him there.

Hockey = registration fees, equipment, hotel fees, flights, and lots and lots of gas and food. Golf is similar, with the coast of club fees and several trips over the summer.

My husband and I have two great jobs. But even with our steady incomes, we were pushing it to keep it all going. And we just wanted more. But no way were we going to sacrifice helping this boy chase his dreams.

Thankfully, I came across an ad with an opportunity to start my own online business. The ad didn’t promise a get rich quick scheme. But it did suggest a get rich in six months potential which piqued my interest. I hopped on the live webinar, listened to some existing business owners, saw the potential and have never looked back.

We were just “making ends meet”.

Let me tell you a little about my family and I. We live in St. John’s, NL, Canada and my husband and I have two great jobs and careers. However, with two busy boys, one who plays AAA hockey and competitive golf and the next one about to start…there wasn’t much left over at the end of the month.

Not so long ago I was pretty excited as we were finally able to replace our old and very uncomfortable furniture. And then our son was invited to a national golfing championship which required booking flights, paying for a high level hotel and you get the idea…bye bye new furniture.

While we will do anything for our boys to give them every opportunity to chase their dreams…it was starting to feel like OUR dreams were crashing around us. The stress of making sure we had it all taken care of was really getting to us and we were feeling like what was supposed to be the best years of our life had become plain survival mode.

I had tried a few different options to start my own online business of various kinds to help us get ahead. And while I occasionally made a little extra, it never worked out to be what I had hoped for. It was never the life changing opportunity I so desperately wanted (and we needed).

Then…I came across an ad and post like the one you are reading right now and my instincts told me to follow up on it. I signed up for the free webinar and then following that immediately joined the community of entrepreneurs to build a business….all online.

The best part? This business is turnkey and an amazing place to begin for people like me who have the goal (and need) to make more but have no idea where to start. The system is plug and play. This list right here? This is one of the lists that our son Owen has worked so hard to find his name on.

It has been a long and stressful try out...it went over a week longer than expected. But...But hard work pays off! Even at barely 10 years old.

So many lessons learned. For both our hockey player and us as his parents.

Now it's time to celebrate his success and then put our heads down and help him work his hardest and enjoy this year with his team to the fullest.
