Hi everyone...
This is for the English speaking people in Budapest that have anxiety, depression or other mental health problems that interfere with your studies, jobs and relationships and don't have access to a good councelor/therapist. Maybe because of the overload on the Public Healthcare system in Hungary or maybe because you can't afford a private one.
I am here to tell you this has changed. I have lots of time since I am just starting my business and am around 50% cheaper than any English speaking psychologist in Budapest. This is possible because of the low overhead costs since I do not work from an office.
My name is Dennis from the Netherlands and I am a licenced psychotherapist/counselor with an experience of 4 years in a mental hospital working with psychotic people and 3 years as a counselor on location. For this job I visited my clients at their homes to help them structure their day to day lives an prevent further problems. I am a so called "experience worker" and i am specialized as such with a Bachelor degree. This means I help people with anxiety, depression, stress and psychotic tendencies, schizophrenia, autism and use my own experiences as a patient to do this. That's right..I was a mental patient myself and because of personal experience in the years that I was in therapy, I know what works and what doesn't. I know what it is like to feel like you are loosing control and be anxious. I know what true depression feels like. And maybe most importantly, I know what it is to feel like your not being heared or afraid to talk to your family, doctors and specialists.
In Holland there is a specialized education now for people like me, were we learn to make the general staff of Hospitals and Institutions, like nurses, doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists, better understand the feelings and needs of a patient.
I am offering my services here to anyone that is diagnosed with one of the above mentioned disorders or thinks he or she has one of those disorders and needs help in their lives.
