Sunset vibes 🌄

I think there is a magical point in time when the sun sets and you catch a glimpse of all the colors playing on the sky.

This place (Gran Canaria) I am spending couple of days in, has a very special place in my heart.

So many things and life events happened here that shaped me till this day.

I met my first serious boyfriend here, I spent every summer with one of my oldest friends with whom we always watched the stars and talked about our futures as teenagers and it has plenty of family memories of us playing mini golf that my father always won (even though I always tried to beat him and sometimes he kindly let me). The list goes on…

So this sunset reminds me all the things I can and am grateful for in life.

Struggling with BIG feelings? Let it R.A.I.N.

When we look deeply into ourselves and experience our feelings we can learn and manage them. When it feels like they are too big to manage... think of this technique:

🤓 R - Recognise what you are feeling. What is the name of the feeling? eg. I am mad or oh there is anger here

🤗 A - Allow the feeling to be here and present. Do not fight it as it makes it worse if you are trying to deny, bury or avoid it. Allow it by welcoming it as it is already here

🥰 I - Investigate it with kindness: Why do I feel this way? What happened? Is this feeling really true?

🤠 N- Non-identification of the feeling. Know that you are NOT your thoughts and you are NOT your feelings. Emotions are like waves, they come and go, so once you know that this feeling does not define or swallow you just let it go and wait for the next better wave (feeling).

Did you know that it takes only and precisely 120 minutes to get a dose of nature high enough to make people say they feel healthy and have a strong sense of well-being?

Studies have shown that time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote for stress: It can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood.

This makes nature not only a nice to have place and space to spend time in, but it’s a have-to-have for physical health and cognitive function.🌏

Happy Easter 🐰🐣

One of the most popular Hungarian Easter traditions is 'sprinkling the women', practised in town and countryside.

On Easter Monday, boys are allowed to sprinkle girls with water or perfume – traditionally, a bucket of water is thrown on them! 🤣 – and then the girls offer them painted eggs, homemade treats or a little shot of alcohol in return.

Of course, the water symbolizes purification, and the act of pouring it on the women was believed to be beneficial for fertility in ancient times. 🌸😊

The power of women.

Today we celebrate women across all continents, countries and we stand united in honouring the beauty, strength and capabilities of women who came before us, who live today and the next generations to come.

As a woman myself I find myself sometimes in a tricky position how to express myself in a world where masculinity (achievements, doing, hard work, money and power) is celebrated and femininity (being, nurturing, vulnerability, softness and kindness) being a secondary strength.

How to stay authentic, soft and feminine yet strong, motivated and hard working at the same time?

How to stay safe physically, emotionally and mentally in a world where women are more exploited and vulnerable?

How to be a good friend, daughter, mother and loving partner all at once without losing our own needs?

How to stay beautiful, healthy and love my body when we live in a culture where skinny and 20 year old look is the acceptable standard for ALL women of all ages and body shapes?

How to be a “strong” women according to society’s rules?

I wish I had all the answers to that. But I don’t. All I know is how to be grateful for being a woman with all the advantages and stereotypes that come with living our most authentic selves.

So today I don’t need flowers, and I don’t need empty words.

We need appreciation, understanding and respect for being women and being sometimes emotional, “crazy” and OTT.

Allow us to be safe wherever we go, so we don’t need to carry protection or look behind our back.

Allow us to just be and not constantly compete with another and with men at the same time.

Allow us to love our bodies and accept we will barely ever all look like Victoria secret angel models and that’s okey.

Allow us to be erratic and emotional when we feel like it.

Just allow us to celebrate our feminine soft and vulnerable side.

I love all my sisters and I love all the women who got us here. I also love all the women who are coming after us. Who will know better and know their worth no matter what society tells us.

Remember that if you are struggling with what you are seeing, hearing on the news, just prioritize taking a moment to yourself.
