This symposium explores how cancer’s complexity demands quantitative, single-cell-level analysis enhanced by AI. Dr. Molnár will present results from an academic-industrial initiative that led to the development of an integrated diagnostic and research platform—featuring high-resolution imaging (NA > 0.85), fluorescence modalities (FISH, mIHC), water immersion optics for cytology, and novel 3D imaging via micro-CT. The platform, co-engineered with Lenovo (Hungary), represents a high-performance, end-to-end solution for modern digital pathology.

Digital Pathology in Aquaculture? Yes, it’s already transforming the field!

In this video, Dr. Marcos Godoy showcases how CIBA is applying digital pathology for fish diagnostics using the 3DHISTECH MIDI II digital slide scanner and software solutions with image analysis distributed in Chile by ImerLab. This setup enables precise analysis of fish diseases through whole slide imaging and remote consultation—bringing faster, more collaborative, and scalable diagnostics to aquaculture pathology.

It’s a powerful example of how digital pathology can make waves beyond traditional human diagnostics.

Digital Pathology Making Waves in Aquaculture

The Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Aplicadas (CIBA) is now leading digital pathology and AI-based disease diagnostics in aquaculture in southern Chile, thanks to the incorporation of the 3DHISTECH MIDI II digital slide scanner, supported by ImerLab.

In an interview with Radio Sago, Dr. Marcos Godoy and Diego Caro shared how this state-of-the-art technology is transforming salmon pathology. By enabling high-resolution whole slide imaging and AI-assisted diagnostics, the 3DHISTECH solution is setting a new standard for precision and efficiency in fish health management.
