Not written by me.....
I can't help but still I'm still happy about this! What a sweet video! Despite all critical observations in keeping animals under human care.
I know I'm going to get a lot of s**t over me again from people who think to have a lot of sense by saying that these animals are starving, abused and not belong in a dolfinarium. And maybe that last one is. Even though I've been working with marine mammals for over 35 years, it doesn't mean I'm holding on to habits of ' then '.
Also in training animals I have continued to develop so why should I not be critical of other things that engage animals such as housing, nutrition and gedragsmanagement?
So don't worry, I really do! And still, every day again, I wonder if the things I do today are also good tomorrow.
And I like to listen to people who have an opinion about caring or temporary of animals under human care. I would like to have a respectful discussion with people who, like me, are concerned about the future of the well-being of our animals. And we really don't always have to agree. The beautiful thing is that we all have the same opinion. That we love our animals and wish them all the best! And that should be the starting point of the discussion.
Only, the problem is that love for animals knows a lot of forms. What a normal thing is, it doesn't have to be for the other. Putting a dog on a jacket is for the most common cause of the world while it is reprehensible for the other. And who am I to determine what is good or not good for an animal?
I can only make my common sense work and from my profession, passion and knowledge and 40 years of experience form an opinion. Others do that too, just not hindered by any knowledge.
And the moment I get scolded for dolfijnenmoordenaar, slave trader, compared to people who kill dolphins for trade like in tadji, animal cruelty, or things I won't call here on fb because you don't hang out like this, stops with me The communication.
Then you don't understand who I am and what I want to achieve with my book. Then you don't understand that I'm not for or against. Then you don't realize that I certainly don't stand still at something I learned over 35 years ago.
Because if I did, I'd still be walking with a slipketting as a collar to drag my dog out on the street and we all thought the earth was flat.
So I'm before changes! But only well thought out, deliberate and out of profit. Not for myself but profit for the animals. Because human perception should never prevail when it comes to animal welfare.
To a better animal welfare! Discussions with respect and with people with knowledge of business! And that's what I'm applaud for
Which doesn't take away that I still find this an endearing video. Which, of course, is to be discussed Can we give animals "humanize" and kisses? I honestly don't know. What I do know is that it certainly doesn't harm this dolphin and that it looks like he's having fun in it. In fact, I'm afraid to say it with certainty because I know the feeling. I gave a hundred thousand kisses to them and had a hundred thousand times the feeling they liked it, all that attention.
And I'd like to keep posting this kind of videos without disrespectful comments. Because I don't think this animal is being abused. You can say you're against. But please keep it neat. For Now: I'm going to enjoy all that love!
