Body image has little to do with how you look and everything to do how you feel. But fat is not a feeling.

*feeling fat* is a powerful expression that fuels incredibly negative cycles that are difficult to break but so easy to self-reinforce. And it is so commonly “felt” by both smaller and bigger individuals regardless of their size. What is behind it for You?

For me it is sometimes as simple as feeling sweaty;having my tight rub against each other or feeling restricted in tight clothing or feeling bloated before my period. Simple to identify reasons.

Other times when it *feels* a lot more intense, helpless and devastating is typically because:

-I did not do what I said I was going to do
-I have not been taking care of myself the way I would want to
-I feel restricted / controlled / forced to do something.

It is easy and common to mislabel or overlook emotions we find uncomfortable. But I encourage you to try identify them and find what triggers You.

Her luck doesn’t have to do with you. Her privilege doesn’t have to do with you. Her situation does not have to do with you.

Stop allowing someone’s situation to become your excuse for not going after what you want. It is only an obstacle because you make it one.

Your journey isn’t like anyone else’s.
You don’t have to copy what she does and you certainly shouldn’t not. You can have your own routine and have your incredible results too, but they will (and should) look different from someone else’s. How would they not? You are different people.

Once you realize you can do fitness & health YOUR WAY you will have a lot more success with it, I promise!

my food & fitness rules the first week post C-section:

🙏🏻 focus on the small targets;
enough water, as much sleep as possible, at least one protein rich balanced meal a day

🙏🏻 supplements; Omega3, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, OJ with coconut water electrolytes

🙏🏻 focusing on posture, while sitting / standing, gentle physio movements, spending gradually more time on my feet to get ready for a walk!

🙏🏻 a little uninterrupted me time in the shape of anything that makes me feel good in my skin; right now it’s showers & skincare & “getting ready”.

🙏🏻 comfy clothes only.

TUNA SALAD *fridge-dump* style;

2 small cans of tuna in olive oil (or add olive oil later)
about 200 gr cherry tomatoes (chopped)
1,5 cucumber (peeled & chopped)
a small purple onion
a tbsp of mayo
a tbsp of creme freche (or sour cream)
salt & pepper

Note: Add more or less of anything you want. This was a true fridge-dump, using simply the leftovers we had and adding condiments and spices to our taste. Serve it with some crackers or your favourite bread.

Try it this weekend, you might actually have all the ingredients 😉

Funnily enough; at my lowest weight I was my sickest (mentally, physically, emotionally), and my fittest (& sustainable, enjoyable) figure ended up sitting at the same weight as my highest weight from before.

Body composition > Body Weight ✨

Your body will likely have a -set weight point- where it feels safe and confortable. A weight where it climbs back up to over time when you aren’t trying to lose weight. This does not mean you cannot look *your best*

It simply means your best figure does not have to be at your lowest weight. Which is pretty cool if you ask me😉😏

Stop biting off more than you can chew or trust me, you will choke on those goals. Going from 0 to 100 is hardly ever a good strategy for the long-run.

Small steps, frequent and sensible actions that move the needle to the right direction are the key to your 2024 goals.

All my clients will have this homework inspired by the book 📚 The 12 week Year 📚;

🪄First they will identify their goals using a 🙌Goal Setting Guide 🙌(you can access this too for free linked in my bio)

🪄Then they will name their first goal (1-2 max) for Q1 and break their to dos down to weekly targets for 4 weeks at a time, for 12 weeks in total (swipe to the 3rd photo to see the structure)

✨Every 4th week is a reflections week; where they evaluate their input & progress and adjust their plan for upcoming 4 weeks if needed.

As you can see, they won’t jump into the week chasing their main goal.

They will calmly take the FIRST (and then 2nd and 3rd) step towards it instead.

365 days is a long time to chase something “blindly”.

Actions speak louder than words, so if you have a goal and feeling sick of not reaching it; I invite you to copy this little strategy & give yourself an honest chance this time! 🙃✨

This one is for the ones feeling pressured to eat beyond comfort 🫤

Of course you could get into the long (but unfortunately often painfully pointless) conversation of boundaries but….

as someone who spent years wasting time, energy, mood and mental health trying to ‘’win’’ such arguments only to have my mood ruined…

and as someone who works with people going through the same at every family gathering…

I say; pick your battles. Better yet: 🙌 choose your peace.🙌

At the end of the day your goal should be to feel good about your choices and your actions. You are not there (and likely won’t even be able) to convince anyone of anything.

I can pretty much guarantee this formula will give you a smooth way out, won’t leave your aunt or grandma upset and will allow for a peaceful meal together without another fight over your ‘’new’’ preferences.
