Body image has little to do with how you look and everything to do how you feel. But fat is not a feeling.
*feeling fat* is a powerful expression that fuels incredibly negative cycles that are difficult to break but so easy to self-reinforce. And it is so commonly “felt” by both smaller and bigger individuals regardless of their size. What is behind it for You?
For me it is sometimes as simple as feeling sweaty;having my tight rub against each other or feeling restricted in tight clothing or feeling bloated before my period. Simple to identify reasons.
Other times when it *feels* a lot more intense, helpless and devastating is typically because:
-I did not do what I said I was going to do
-I have not been taking care of myself the way I would want to
-I feel restricted / controlled / forced to do something.
It is easy and common to mislabel or overlook emotions we find uncomfortable. But I encourage you to try identify them and find what triggers You.
