DNA Double-Strand breaks occur frequently in the genome during replication or are caused by DNA damaging agents and affect genome stability resulting in translocations often leading to cancer formation. A better understanding of DNA repair mechanism can lead to identification of novel potential therapeutic targets in cancer treatment.

Recently, two Ph.D. students from the Genome Integrity and DNA Repair Group successfully defended their theses. Both received a perfect 100% from their committees, reflecting the dedication and effort they put into their scientific work. This weekend we had the outside of the lab team activity. We decided to run the marathon as a team. Thankyou everyone who participated and also for the sick members who could not join this time. Out time is 03:52:03 whcih deserved 3rd place in our cathegory. Congratulation for the team.
