Friendship- my definition- is built on two things. Respect and trust. Both elements have to be there. And it has to be mutual. You can have respect for someone, but if you don't have trust, the friendship will crumble.

anya - other; asrayanam - shelters; tyago - giving up; an-anyata - exclusiveness

Exclusive devotion to the Supreme means to giving up all the other shelters.

Pure bhakti is exclusive surrendering to the will of the Supreme. This happens through the devotees unconditional love. For the bhakti yogi, there is no other shelter than the Supreme Lord.

One should rely only on the Supreme. He is the source of everyone and every phenomena.

One should be completely free from doubts in order to take full shelter of the Supreme.
