Michelle Hansen has over twenty five years experience as a practitioner of Complementary/Holistic Health Care. Spending her teen years obsessed with sport she developed an early interest in maintaining optimal health. This led to early interests in Exercise Therapy, Nutrition, "Alternative" Medicine and Supplementation. After high school Michelle entered a science degree with the idea of entering the medical field in some capacity: She quickly became disillusioned with the "tools" of modern medicine and its associated lack of focus with “healthy living”, preventing illness and treating the whole person. While studying Naturopathy in the 1980's Michelle became increasing interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist Philosophy and found her niche. Michelle completed her Acupuncture degree in 1991 (+ 3 years of Naturopathy) and has been in the “Complementary Medicine / Wellness Industry” since then: She went on to travel extensively throughout Asia for several years studying many forms of Healing and Buddhism and completed a degree from Griffith University in Asian Studies with a double Major in Mandarin for the purpose of understanding Chinese Medicine in its original form. A keen yogini with a daily practice Michelle is also a qualified yoga teacher. Michelle has vast clinical experience in Australia and her last post saw her working in an Integrative Medical Centre and specialising in Traditional Chinese Medicine:
Now located in Beautiful Bali she is as passionate today about helping people achieve their wellness goals as ever before. 🌸 Welcome to Flowing Womban! 🌸
Hi everyone, I'm Michelle, your trusted Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Naturopathic practitioner. I'm here to guide you on a journey towards better menstrual health and hormonal balance.

Today, let's talk about the foundation of  The Menstrual Cycle. Understanding your menstrual cycle is crucial for maintaining overall health and well-being.
🩸 What is the Menstrual Cycle? The menstrual cycle is a natural, monthly process that prepares your body for pregnancy. It involves a complex interplay of hormones that regulate ovulation, menstruation, and other essential functions.
🌙 Phases of the Menstrual Cycle:
1. Menstrual Phase: The shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in your period. This phase usually lasts 3-7 days.
2. Follicular Phase: The period between the first day of your period and ovulation. During this phase, the hormone estrogen rises, leading to the thickening of the uterine lining.
3. Ovulation Phase: The release of a mature egg from the o***y: This usually occurs around the 14th day of a 28-day cycle.
4. Luteal Phase: The time between ovulation and the start of your next period. Progesterone levels rise, preparing the uterus for a potential pregnancy.

💫 Why Understanding Your Cycle is Important: Knowing your cycle helps you recognize patterns, identify irregularities, and manage symptoms more effectively. It empowers you to take control of your health and make informed decisions.

🌿 TCM and Your Cycle: In TCM, we see the menstrual cycle as a mirror of your overall health. By harmonizing your body's energies and using natural remedies, we can foster a smooth and healthy menstrual cycle, giving you hope for a balanced and vibrant life.

Hello everyone, 👩‍⚕️
Did you know that ear piercings hold not just cultural significance, but also potential health benefits in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)? According to TCM, our ears are microcosms of the entire body, with specific points corresponding to various organs and systems. This unique perspective offers a fascinating insight into the potential of ear piercings beyond just aesthetics.
🌿 Health Benefits:
Auricular Acupuncture: Certain ear points can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and balance hormones.
Immune Boost: Stimulating ear points through piercings may enhance immune function.
Digestive Support: Some points on the ear are believed to improve digestion and metabolism.

✨ Balancing Energy: Ear piercings can also influence the body's flow of Qi (energy). Properly chosen piercing points may help harmonize Qi and promote overall well-being.

🛠️ Desensitization Over Time: It's important to note that the continuous stimulus from an ear piercing can lead to desensitization over time. The ear's nerve endings may gradually adapt to the presence of the earring, reducing the initial therapeutic effects. This is a natural process, similar to how the body adapts to constant stimuli. To maintain the benefits, consider periodically removing the earrings to allow the ear to rest and then re-stimulating the points as needed.

💫 Considerations:
* Ensure you choose a professional who understands the anatomical and energetic aspects.
* Periodic rest periods for the pierced points can help sustain the therapeutic benefits.
