Modalitas ini diketahui untuk meredakan nyeri otot setelah olahraga berat (doms). Namun ada hal-hal yg harus diperhatikan:
1. Modalitas ini tdk disarankan pada orang2 yang yg punya alergi dingin, hipertensi, gangguan neuromuskular dsb.
2. Gunakan seperlunya krn penggunaan yg terlalu sering justru akan berefek negatif pada performa atlet (efek kronis). Maksimal 2x seminggu jika jadwal tanding padat/latihan intensif.

3. Jangan terlalu dingin (15mnt) krn berisiko hipotermia dan peningkatan indikator inflamasi.
Lain hal pada modalitas Whole body cryotherapy (WBC) yg suhunya kurang dari minus 200 drjt Celcius, itu hanya dilakukan bbrp menit (
