What to Do When You Want to Learn How to Float 🏊♂️💙
Floating is the first skill every swimmer should master. It teaches relaxation, balance, and water confidence. If you can float, you can stay safe and learn every other stroke faster. 🌊
1️⃣ Relax Your Body
Your body floats best when it’s calm.
Release tension from your shoulders, neck, and legs.
The more relaxed you are, the higher you float.
2️⃣ Take a Deep, Calm Breath
Fill your lungs gently — air is your natural life jacket.
Don’t hold your breath too tight… just stay calm.
3️⃣ Tilt Your Head Back
Look upward or toward the sky.
When your head floats, your hips rise automatically.
4️⃣ Spread Your Arms and Legs
Make a big “X” shape.
This increases surface area and makes floating easier.
5️⃣ Stay Still
Don’t kick or move too much.
Small movements create imbalance — stillness keeps you afloat.
6️⃣ Trust the Water
The water is supporting you.
Your body naturally floats more than you think.

Coach Tip 🏊♂️🔥
If you panic, you sink. If you relax, you float. Practice in shallow water first and build confidence step by step.
