Jaya sedang berjuang melawan kanker otak.
Kebingungan berubah menjadi harapan.

Not all children with cancer start from the same place.
For some, the struggle is not only against the disease, but also against inaccessibility to care, financial hardship, and the uncertainties of accessing treatment.
Behind every diagnosis is a child who wants to stay in school, laugh with friends and keep dreaming.
But without equitable access, that hope can feel further and further away.
Rachel House is here to bridge that gap.
Our palliative care team of nurses and community health workers bring care into their homes, support families, and ensure no child faces this journey alone.
This is what transforming “Challenge to Change” truly means - compassion turns into action and action creates hope.
Today, one child can receive care because of your kindness.
Many more are still waiting.
💛 Let’s make care possible for more children.

Rachel House hadir melalui perawatan paliatif gratis berbasis rumah.

A serious illness doesn’t only change a child’s physical health.
It changes the life of the entire family.
When hospital bills, medication, transportation, and daily needs pile up,
home becomes the safest place to receive care.
In the midst of limitations, presence often means the most.
Rachel House provides free, home-based palliative care, supporting children with serious illnesses from underprivileged families.
We arrive in the children’s homes not only to provide medical care or relieve pain,
but also to bring presence, compassion, and hope —
so that children and their families never feel alone.
💛 What does “being cared for with love” mean to you?

This is not just a story about illness.
It is a story about being seen.
Hamzah is a teenager facing isolation due to cancer of the bone. However, in the midst of
aloneness, he found his voice through his drawings.
And when our nurses noticed, listened, and encouraged him, something shifted.
With every home visit, he gained what medicine alone cannot give: confidence, connection, and
hope.
Healing is more than medicine. It is about being believed in, supported, and reminded that you
matter.
By standing with children like Hamzah, we help hope find its way home. Together, we can
ensure no child faces illness alone.

Misha teaches us that courage does not always speak loudly.
It lives in quiet smiles, in patience through long treatments, and in dreams held close, even on difficult days. In the midst of uncertainty, Misha chooses hope.
Her journey reflects what palliative care truly means: being there for a child in every moment, easing their pain, and helping them feel safe and cared for. At Rachel House, we walk beside children like Misha so their days are shaped by dignity, presence, and compassion not only through medical support but through listening, connection, and care that sees the whole child.
As we step into 2026, let kindness guide us forward.
Together, we can bring hope to Misha and other children who are waiting to be seen and cared for.
Let this be the year we choose to care - gently and consistently.

Founded in 2006, Rachel House (Yayasan Rumah Rachel) has pioneered palliative care in Indonesia for seriously-ill children. We provide home-based palliative care services to seriously-ill children with Cancer and HIV AIDS free of charge.
In addition, we educate and equip medical professionals and local communities with palliative care skills and knowledge to provide care for those in need. We advocate at a national and international level for improved access to palliative care for all Indonesians regardless of income, illness or education.
Right now, there are close to 700,000 seriously-ill children in Indonesia, but less than one percent currently has access to pain relief or palliative care.
Palliative care is a specialised medical care for people with serious illness and their families - providing pain and symptom management and emotional, social and spiritual support - so that patients can live pain-free and with optimal quality of life.
Our highly-trained nurses provide home-based palliative care services to the seriously-ill children with Cancer and HIV AIDS and their families across the greater Jakarta region, free of charge. Our nurses provide pain and symptom management for the children and emotional, social and spiritual support for the entire family.
Community Network in Palliative Care:
Our Community Network in Palliative Care (CNPC) program trains volunteers to provide practical support to serious and chronically ill members of their local community. Working closely with local Puskesmas (primary health clinics), our CNPC program is currently active in 13 communities across North and West Jakarta with more than 260 volunteers active on a weekly basis.
Clinic-In-A-Box:
We equip medical professionals and students from across Indonesia with the key skills and knowledge around palliative care. Taught by some of the world’s leading palliative care experts, our classes cover topics such as pain management, communicating about serious illness and bereavement support.
Public Advocacy - The Living Wall
We believe that no child should ever have to live or die in pain. To help turn this dream in to a reality we campaign to raise public awareness and advocate for a more central role for palliative care in our public health system.
