Rebuilding your life after a breakup or divorce is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.
No one teaches you how to rebuild your self-worth, find yourself again, and start over.

When my marriage ended, I thought the hardest part would be the breakup.
It wasn’t.

The hardest part was figuring out who I was again without that life, that routine, that future I thought I was going to have.

I had all this time on my hands I felt lost.
I didn’t know what I wanted, what I needed, or who I even was anymore.

I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but the things in this post are the things that actually helped me heal, rebuild my self-worth, and slowly build a life that felt like mine again.

Healing after heartbreak isn’t quick.
Rebuilding your self-worth takes time.
Finding yourself again takes courage.
But starting over might be the thing that changes your life.

I completely lost who I was in my marriage and taking the time to find out who I was again will always be the best decision I ever made.

If you’re going through a breakup, heartbreak, divorce, or a big life change right now, this is your reminder that you are allowed to start again, rebuild your life, and choose yourself.

Follow along if you’re rebuilding your life and learning to choose yourself too.

Save this for the next time you feel anxious, overwhelmed or stressed.

Most people try to fix anxiety by thinking differently, but anxiety is a nervous system response, not just a thought problem.

If you want to calm anxiety, you have to work with the body, not just the mind.

Here are my top 3 practices for shifting anxiety

1.Your breath

-Your breath is the fastest way to calm your nervous system.
-When you slow your breathing, you tell your body that you are safe. Your heart rate slows, your muscles relax, and your mind starts to quieten.
-This is why breathwork is one of the most powerful tools for anxiety, stress and nervous system regulation.
-When you focus on your breath, you also bring yourself back into your body and out of your head.

2.Move!

-Movement is also really important for anxiety.
-Anxiety is trapped energy in the body. Emotion is literally energy in motion. If you don’t move it, it stays stuck in the nervous system.
-Walk, shake, stretch, move your body, get outside, anything that lets that energy move instead of sitting inside you.

3.Tapping

-Tapping is another really powerful tool because you are physically tapping into the body while focusing on your breath, which helps release trapped stress and signals safety to the nervous system at the same time.
-It helps break up that stress response and let it move through the body instead of staying stuck.

Most people don’t need to β€œfix themselves”, they just need to learn how to communicate with their body and find out what it needs!

Have you tried breathwork, movement or tapping before? πŸ‘‡
