Last week, Department of Surgery, Universitas Gadjah Mada had the honor of participating in The 7th Joglosemar Craniofacial Forum and The 1st Facial Aesthetic Advanced Learning , held in Semarang, Indonesia.

It was more than just a scientific gathering—it was a moment to connect, learn, and grow together with colleagues and experts from across the region. We brought home not just knowledge and new insights, but also beautiful memories.

🔥 Education on Burn Injury Risk Prevention and Post-Burn Care 🔥
Cangkringan Village, Yogyakarta | May 3rd, 2025

In collaboration with we had the incredible opportunity to carry out a community education event in Cangkringan Village, a high-risk area located near the active volcano Mount Merapi.

This program reached around 100 local health cadres and midwives, equipping them with essential knowledge on how to prevent burn injuries and how to properly manage post-burn care. Given the region’s vulnerability to volcanic activity, this education is not only timely—it’s potentially life-saving.

Our goal is simple but vital: to empower frontline health workers with practical skills and awareness that they can cascade to the wider community. We hope that the knowledge shared will help minimize the risks and consequences of burn injuries, especially in times of disaster.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible. May this effort bring meaningful impact and strengthen community resilience in Cangkringan and beyond. 💪🏼🌋
