Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is actually divided into two seasons?

The first is associated with the Fire element and the height of summer, while the second — known as Late Summer — is connected to the Earth element and seasonal transition.

The first summer season is linked to the Heart and Small Intestine meridians — channels associated with joy, connection, circulation, emotional balance and the calming of the spirit.

Following the beautiful response to our Spring Seasonal Balance Session, and are so pleased to return with our Summer Fire Seasonal Balance Session.

Join us for a nurturing morning where you’ll be guided through practices designed to support the Heart and Small Intestine energies during the Fire season.

We’ll begin with grounding breathwork to settle the nervous system, followed by a summer-focused yin yoga practice using long-held shapes to gently open and support the Fire meridians.

After a nourishing break, each person will receive an individual acupuncture treatment designed to regulate and restore balance for the season ahead.

Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the session intimate.

☯️ What is Qi? ☯️

When we talk about Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we're talking about the vital energy that helps power your body's functions and keeps you feeling balanced.

When Qi is flowing smoothly, you may notice steadier energy, a calmer mind, better digestion, and less tension in the body.

But when Qi gets "stuck" (often from stress, overwork, or injury), it can show up as tight shoulders, headaches, irritability, bloating, or pain that feels fixed in one spot.

Acupuncture helps encourage the healthy movement of Qi, like creating space for circulation and communication in the body again.

Some treatments focus on gently moving stagnant Qi to release tension, while others may strengthen Qi if you feel depleted or run down.

The goal is always personalised to support your body in finding its natural rhythm of flow, balance, and ease.

New patient appointments expected to resume week beginning 18th May, not April!

Due to a very full schedule at present, the online booking system will be temporarily closed to new patients for the next several weeks.

This decision allows me to focus on providing the highest level of care and continuity to those currently undergoing treatment.

If you would still like to get in touch, I will be maintaining a waiting list behind the scenes through the booking system and will reach out as availability opens.

I truly appreciate your understanding and support, and I am very grateful that the clinic is being used by so many of you and for having the opportunity to support your health and wellbeing.

Thank you, Marie X

and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the fabulous ladies who attended our first Seasonal Balance Session ❤️

We could not have hoped for a lovelier group!

Everything about the Seasonal Balance Session is designed to harmonise the body within the current season.

In TCM, spring pretains to the Wood element, representing growth and renewal. It is a time for nurturing the Liver and Gallbladder systems. Todays event was designed to do just that.

With all Yin movements and acupuncture focused on releasing and harmonising the Liver and Gallbladder, complemented by the nourishing refreshments, which were all based in TCM nutrition to support the seasons organ systems.

We are honestly so grateful for the lovely feedback we have received and can't wait for summer to roll round to run our next Seasonal Balance event!

International Women’s Day 2026

This year’s theme is Give to Gain.

As women, we give every day—
as business owners, graduates, mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, aunties, and friends.

We give ideas, care, leadership, resilience, and work that often goes unseen.

But equality means recognising that what women give is not extra—it is foundational.

When women are valued, supported, and equal, everyone gains.

Today, I celebrate the power of what women give to the world—and the future we gain when that contribution is truly recognised.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, healthy sleep depends on balanced Yin–Yang, the smooth flow of Qi, and a calm Shen (spirit).

Acupuncture is traditionally used to settle the nervous system, restore internal balance, and support natural sleep rhythms. It is a low-risk, non-pharmacological option that can support better sleep

EVIDENCE BASED MEDICINE, ROOTED IN THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF CLINICAL WISDOM

Acupuncture is often described as ancient medicine, yet modern science continues to uncover how profoundly it interacts with the nervous system.

From a Western medical perspective, acupuncture works by stimulating specific points that communicate directly with the brain and spinal cord. This stimulation influences the release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine—chemicals responsible for pain modulation, mood regulation, and relaxation.

Research also shows acupuncture can:

• Reduce inflammation
• Improve blood circulation
• Regulate the autonomic nervous system
• Support the body’s natural healing response

Rather than masking symptoms, acupuncture helps the body recalibrate and restore balance from within.

Evidence-based medicine, rooted in thousands of years of clinical wisdom.
