Prevention programs for female athletes have been shown to reduce the likelihood of ACL injury by up 90% in some studies.

The rates of ACL injuries in Ireland have been purported to be some of the highest in the world. Some specialists suggest that the increase in female participation across field based sports, namely, football, rugby and soccer, has lead to this spike in numbers in recent years.

In this post we touch on some of the reasons behind why females are at a greater risk of ACL injury than males.

* Always consult with your healthcare provider to ensure that lymph drainage is safe for you. **

The lymphatic system is often the forgotten system of the body when it comes to pain and recovery.

Whether it is chronic low back pain or post-operatively, helping to aid in the clearance of lymphatic fluid can ease pain and speed up recovery.

Put simply, we rely on movement and hydration for the lymphatic system to optimally function. Here we have given some simple tips on how to aid in the process of lymph drainage.
