I was today years old when I heard there was an actual name for this! In the first few years of my illness October was ALWAYS the worst month. No doctor or consultant could explain it. This led me to my own deep dive into health and I’ve learned a lot along the way.
Autumn is a season of transition — a time to slow down, take guidance from nature, and honour your body.
Let go of what no longer serves you and prioritise pacing and rest, especially during flare-ups. Sleep hygiene is key: keep your bedroom warm but not too hot, clutter-free, and maintain a consistent sleep & wake schedule to help your body adjust to clock changes.
Take advantage of later sunrises by getting some morning red light exposure to support your circadian rhythm. 🌅 At home, avoid wearing outdoor shoes indoors — crunchy autumn leaves can carry mold and dust that trigger allergies. Air filters help, but daily ventilation with fresh air is even better.
Batch cooking can be a lifesaver when energy is low, but if histamine intolerance is a concern, freeze portions to reduce buildup.
Honour the rhythm of the season nourish your body, and be kind to yourself.

Take moment to pause in the midst of the midweek slump. A class to help you get out of your head and back into your body. Join me for deeply grounding hatha or yin yoga practice. This class is all about softening, centering, releasing tension and melting stress. It’s the antidote to tense, desk-bound bodies and weary minds. Suitable for all, no yoga experience needed. The perfect class to leave you feeling balanced and ready to carry a little calm into the rest of your week

✨New Yoga Class✨
They say a change is as good as a rest so for the Winter, The Weekend Wind Down will become the Midweek Wind Down and will change from Friday to Wednesday at 7.30pm. This Friday will be my last regular Friday class for the next while. I have taught the Weekend Wind Down for nearly 4 years now and have loved every minute but in truth the classes numbers are up and down and many of you have asked for a class during the week so I jumped at the opportunity when a midweek slot became available. I am looking forward to having some Friday evenings off but will run a monthly event on Friday evenings the details of which will follow. The Wednesday class will be similar to Fridays, an all levels gentle Hatha or yin by candlelight. New students and beginners are always welcome.

Seomra Shakti Yoga Studio is a vibrant yoga hub in Mullingar, Co Westmeath. Our mission is not just to provide yoga classes but to create a thriving yoga community in the Midlands.

We believe that yoga is for everybody, if you can breathe you can do yoga! We offer vari0us styles of yoga suitable for all levels from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners. We have class times to suit even the most time pressed of students, from early morning flow classes to late evening yin. Our styles of yoga include: Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Baptiste Yoga, Hatha, Yin & Sports Yoga.

Our classes are kept small to ensure every student gets individual attention. We are conveniently located in the Mullingar Business Park, on the outskirts of town, with ample free parking.
