🦺 SAFE Week 2025 at Servier Arklow!

Last week, our teams came together to take part in one of our key annual initiatives β€” SAFE Week.

Safety is more than a priority at Servier Arklow β€” it’s a shared commitment that guides every action we take. This year’s programme reinforced that commitment through a series of engaging and educational activities designed to strengthen our safety culture across all areas of our site.

Here are a few highlights from the week πŸ‘‡
βœ… CPR Training – learning essential life-saving skills
βœ… Packaging Tools Workshops – reinforcing safe practices
βœ… Emergency Eye Wash Demos – practicing quick and effective reactions
βœ… β€œ3 Seconds Is All It Takes” – a thought-provoking keynote on the importance of safety and its real-life consequences
βœ… Laboratory Safety Workshop – reinforcing our Laboratory Safety Culture
βœ… Emergency Scenario with our Servier ERT and Emergency Services – staying prepared for any situation
βœ… SAFE Quizzes – testing our safety knowledge (and winning great prizes!)
βœ… SAFE Gifts – emergency power outage lights for everyone πŸ’‘
At Servier Arklow, we believe that safety starts with each of us, every day.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a success β€” we’re already looking forward to next year!

πŸ’¬ Which activity would you have liked to join? Tell us in the comments!

Our HR team had a great time representing Servier Arklow at recent Career Fairs! πŸ’™

We’re proud to support young people as they explore their future careers.
Every year, new apprentices join our site, from Manufacturing and Maintenance to Laboratory Apprenticeships.

A big welcome to our 2025 apprentices: Leah Sweeney, Nathan Dineen, Callum Stedman, and Dylan Kennedy! We’re so happy to have you on board and can’t wait to see all you’ll achieve. πŸ™Œ

And did you spot the Rose of Tralee in one of our photos? 🌹 We were delighted to meet her during the Career Fairs β€” she’s also an apprentice!

Yesterday, just before World Mental Health Day, we had the great pleasure of welcoming Brent Pope to our Servier Ireland site for an inspiring talk about mental health and wellbeing. πŸ’™

Brent β€” former rugby player, coach, author, and passionate mental health advocate β€” spoke honestly about his own experiences with anxiety and depression. And, he shared practical tools from his 'recovery toolbox' that any of us can use to take care of our mental health every day.

His openness and positivity reminded us how important it is to talk about mental health, to support one another, and to keep breaking the stigma.
A heartfelt thank you to Brent Pope for sharing his story and to Vhi I for making this event possible

Remember, it's good to talk. Talk to someone. As Brent Pope said 'It's never weak to speak. It might in fact be the most powerful thing you ever do for yourself'

On Friday we joined about 60 other companies to celebrate Ireland’s first-ever national Manufacturing Day.

It’s a new initiative by Ibec to β€œspotlight the innovation, skills, and opportunities driving our dynamic manufacturing sector.”

We welcomed a group of 14 students from SETU SU Waterford Campus for a presentation on Servier - our products, our people, our patients and our vision, our values, our vocation. This was followed by a tour of our Manufacturing and Packaging facilities, lead by Lorcan & Ausra.

Thank you to Ibec, SETU and everyone involved in making this happen πŸ‘

What a great night at the Arklow & District Chamber of Commerce awards!

We were very happy to sponsor the β€˜Voluntary Community & Sport Recognition Award’ which was won by the longest serving lifeboat station in Ireland… the Arklow RNLI!! πŸ‘πŸ‘. Linda & Andrea made the presentation to some of the dedicated Arklow crew.

Also on the night we were delighted to be announced as winners of the β€˜Large Business of the Year’ award. Thanks to Rodney for leaving our loud & cheering table to accept the award!

And finally, thank you to the Chamber President, Gary McKenzie, all the Chamber members and of course, Olive & Sheila πŸ™

Earlier this month Ian & Silvio from Servier called into Futures In Mind in Gorey to make a donation on behalf of Servier. Ray and the team at Futures in Mind (formerly Talk to Tom) do an incredible amount of work, which sadly is never ending. Thank you and to everyone working in suicide prevention, mental health awareness and support services. πŸ™

If you live in Arklow you must visit the Tidy Towns gardens which are dotted around the town. Starting with the Urban Garden - a fabulous little spot just off the Main St where you can drop in to relax or to pinch a few herbs for the dinner!

That’s where we met the TT volunteers (No.1 volunteer is dressed in red) to donate a €1000 towards the incredible work they do. Thank you Arklow Tidy Towns πŸ™
