We regret to inform you of the death of Ita Halligan, (Nee Duffy), Mountplesent, Coosan, Athlone.
Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St Vincents Hospital Athlone o December 24th 2025. Predeceased by her husband William (Billy). Sadly missed by her daughters Ann, Cathy, Oonagh, and Deirdre, sons Hubert and Billy, son-in-laws Paul, Colm, and Ian, daughter-in-law, Caroline. Grandchildren Aoife, Maeve, Orla, Sadhbh, Hannah, Luke, Ella, Lucy, Conor, Donal and Leah, sisters Úna,.Phil. Bridie, and Helan, brother Luke, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at the Strand Funeral Home (N37 WY17) on Sunday evening from 5 o’clock, with removal at 6.40 o’clock to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church Coosan, arriving at 7 o’clock. Mass of the resurrection on Monday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Coosan Cemetery.

Dún Mhuire, Lyster St.,Athlone, Westmeath, late of Castletown Geoghegan.
Peacefully in the tender care of the nurses and staff of The Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on 23rd December 2025. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary Ellen, her sisters Sr. Maria and Brid her brothers Jimmy, Fr. Michael, Fr. Tony, John Joe and Pat. Lovingly remembered by her sisters Sr. Phil, Sr. Bernadette and Martha, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, relatives, Sisters of Mercy Western Branch and many friends.

Reposing at The Strand Funeral Home (N37 WY 17) Friday (26th) evening from 4.30 pm followed by removal to S.S. Peter & Paul’s Church, arriving at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday (27th) at 1.00pm followed by burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery, Summerhill, Athlone (N37 T298).

We regret to inform you of the death of Patrick Joseph (PJ) Murray, Clonellan, Ballydangan, Athlone.
PJ passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff at Roscommon Hospice. Predeceased by his parents Bridget and Tom, brothers James, Tom, Tim and Anthony, and sisters Bridie and Mary and brother-in-law Hughie. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Paul, sisters-in-law, Breda, Elsie and Stella and his brother-in-law Pat, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, cousins, extended family, wide circle of friends and neighbours.
May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Drum Parish Hall on Tuesday evening (23rd) from 5pm, with removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Drum, arriving at 7.30pm. Mass of the resurrection on Wednesday (24th) at 11am, followed by burial in Drum Cemetery.

We regret to inform you that the death has occurred of Gerald (Gerry) Fitzgerald, 9 Battery Heights, Athlone, Co. Westmeath..
Following a short illness surrounded by his family in the tender care of South Westmeath Hospice. Predeceased by his wife Louise, parents Albert and Christine, and sister Philomena. Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean, daughters Elaine and Affrica, son Aaron, grandchildren Carmela, Layla, Rory, Lucy, Hero and AJ, sons in law CJ and Ronan, daughter in law Sinead, brothers, sisters, parents in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
